All you need to know about DBUU.

Likes

The college is located in a very peaceful environment away from noise. Although it is not far from dehradun city but it is in a very beautiful place.
Most of the faculties are very supportive and their teaching methods are very very good. Some of them are from NITs.
College is vey much into discipline and has very strict environment in terms of uniform , any violence and all.

Dislikes

This college does not have sporting facilities upto that level , no sports clubs are actively take part in which students can join also there are no cultural clubs or nothing.
The college has a lot of fines, it has a day called reporting day before starting of the each semester on which you have to be present otherwise they charge you a fine of ₹10000 and the only purpose of this reporting day is to check fee submission.
The strict 75% attendance criteria restricts you to gain any internship experience upto 3 year, they give NOC in 4th year but that is a negaitive point which i personally hated. Also here in this area you don't find good transport facilities

Student view on course curriculum and exams

The thing about the curriculum as i stated it seem like old because they are teaching us chemistry which i don't think is worthy. Apart from that there is programming classes and they conduct hackathon to university level and state level too. Exams are conducted after completion of 2 units in each subject approximately after 2 months of the sem starting. Difficulty level is easy to moderate as i stated that most questions come from the question bank which they provide.

Placement provided by the college , average and highest package

Placements in my college are mostly average. yes students do get placed with an average package 4-6 lakh per annum. In B tech from 7th semester you are eligible to sit in the campus placements. There are more than 113 companies which have visited and more than 40000 offers made (on papers.) Highest package offered this year was 27 lakh per annum In Btech the placement percentage is around 55-70%. My plan after the degree will be placed in a good MNC and to make money with my passion.

Yearly fees structure and scholarship

I am paying yearly fee of 150000 including all he extra fees. There is two type of seats one is of state domicile and other is open category seat. The students from the state uttarakhand are given 20-25% scholorship on tuition fee, also there's merit based scholorships too according to percentage in 12th boards upto 100%. Tuition fee for open category is 82500 per semester which is 165000 per year.

Annual fest and various activity in the campus

The annual fest held in my college is called "Pinak" which helds every year in March. The technical events like Hackathons are held 2 per semester timing may vary. The library has a large number of books and they are accessible, each book have decent amount of copies too. I don't go to library frquently but i observed these. Each classrooms is equipped with projectors which do works, where students also come uo with their presentations and all. Each year there is a sports week that helds in month of January and February. Also there is a special sports event for freshers that helds in the month of november ( this year it dosen't happened) There's a group called "Navdhara" which focuses on various social works and it is collaborated with NSS, and there is an fashion group where students participate who wants to make in modelling.

Student views on the faculty and exams

Most of the faculties are very good and supportive, and we students have a very friendly relationship with them. We have our HOD Mr.Rohit Dobriyal he is such a sweet person and our Calculus teacher Mr.Sajid Ali, he's a gem. The University conducts two exams per semester which are 'Mid-sem exams' and 'End-sem exams. The difficulty of theses exams is easy to moderate because most of the questions come from the question banks which the university provides you. To be honest i really don't know why they teach chemistry to Computer science student , this is the thing which i hate and the overall curriculum so far does not mathed with today's world it seem like it is an old pattern.

Admission process of the college

In my case i opted this college over other colleges because of its affordable fees. The fee over here is much more affordable as compared to other universities like Graphic Era , UPES, D.I.T etc. I gave JEE exam which didn't went well enough that i could get admission in the government colleges in Computer Science branch. I applied in GBUPAT, GBPIET on basis of my JEE scores and i got seat in Mechanical Engineering branch but i didn't joined them because i wanted to opt CS branch only. In my college , the admission process is very simple, you just have to resgister for the seat that costs 1000 and then you can visit college for further admission process or you can fill by sitting at home through your counsellor and if you are sure that you only want to take admission in this college so you can directly take admission and not opting for registering which will save your 1000. Admission fee is 7000 (one time only).

Nightlife and surroundings of the campus

Usually our college gets over at 4:30 pm and after that there are tons of cafes , recreational areas like arcade and all. The market around the area remains open till 9:30 to 10:00 pm. There are couple of gyms around whih are at walking distance from college. The students here , hostellers or the one who live in pg like me come at evenings to buy vegetables, some go to gym and other activities. On holidays students prefer to go to Mussorie, Bhadraj Temple, monsatries and there are other ton of places to visit near college, (if you have yoir own vehicle it becomes more easier) In our college there is a tree cafe, a nescafe where most of the students meet and have their meal apart from eating from messes and canteen.

DBBU Financial Assistantship

DBUU OFFERS SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ALUMNI IN HIGHER PROGRAMS- DBUU offers a 10% additional scholarship on academic fees for its graduates who enrol in a higher program at the university immediately after graduation without a gap.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THE EWS STUDENT- DBUU offers a 10% annual scholarship on academic fees to support the education of students from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS).

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR WARD OF SINGLE MOTHER- DBUU offers a 5% annual scholarship on academic fees for students who are the wards of single mothers, supporting their education and financial needs. Eligible candidates must provide the necessary documents during admission.

ORPHAN STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS- DBUU provides a 5% annual scholarship on academic fees for orphan students to support their education.

DIFFERENTLY ABLED STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS- DBUU offers a 5% annual scholarship on academic fees for differently-abled students to support their education.

WARDS OF EMPLOYEE SCHOLARSHIPS- DBUU offers a 10% annual scholarship on academic fees for the children of its employees, supporting their education and academic growth.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR SIBLING- DBUU offers a 10% scholarship on academic fees for the siblings of current students and alumni, applicable for all years of study. This initiative supports families by making education more affordable.

ALUMNI SIBLINGS SCHOLARSHIPS- DBUU offers a 10% scholarship on academic fees for all years to siblings of current students or alumni, supporting families in pursuing quality education together.

EMPLOYEE REFERENCE- DBUU offers a 5-10% scholarship on academic fees for students recommended or referred by university employees. This scholarship is available for all years to support deserving candidates.

DBBU DOMICILE SCHOLARSHIPS

DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP POLICY- Students from any state in India are eligible for a scholarship of up to 10% on first-year academic fees at DBUU. This initiative aims to support and encourage meritorious students in their higher education journey.

UTTARAKHAND STATE DOMICILE POLICY- Students who are domiciles of Uttarakhand or have completed their 10th or 12th education in the state are eligible for a scholarship of up to 25% per year on tuition fees at DBUU.

OTHER HILLY STATE DOMICILE POLICY- DBUU offers a scholarship of up to 10% per year on academic fees to support meritorious and talented students from Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, and the Northeast states, including Nagaland, Assam, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram, and Meghalaya, as well as Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts of West Bengal.

DBBU Over & Above Scholarships

Early Bird SCHOLARSHIPS—DBUU offers a 5% scholarship (up to ₹5,000) on the first-year total fees for students who pay the first-semester fee and other charges by July 31, 2025.

One-Time Fee Submission- Students who pay the one-time academic fee, exam fee, and other one-time charges are eligible for a 5% scholarship (up to ₹5,000) on the total fees for the first year.

Management Referral- The management holds the right to grant scholarships based on the candidate's profile and eligibility.

Note: The early bird scholarship for Pharmacy and Nursing programs will not be available after May 15, 2025

I applied for the VGU jaipur but did not went there beacause of placement of there was not that good and also peer group wan not that active and effective.For taking admission in this college there is no exam required. You have to just register in the college.

When I visited DBUU , it felt nice and also got some positive reviews from the students Also the education quality at DBUU is quite good as compare to other colleges. Candidate must have 12th standard with science (PCB) or any other equivalent examination recognized by concerned State Governments and Education boards provided the candidate passes the examination with 50% aggregate marks in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The General Category requires 50% marks and SC/ ST/ Physically handicapped requires 45% marks. The Candidates are supposed to qualify NEET examination. Foreign students will be admitted having equivalent qualification and only after approval of Uttarakhand Ayurveda university.

Agriculture (4 years Course) a candidate should have passed the Intermediate (10+2) examination or equivalent with Mathematics/Biology/Agriculture group from any recognized Board/University with a minimum of 45% marks and relaxation in marks for reserved category candidates shall be given as per GOI/ University rules.
