Remarks :

admission is basically based on jee main score around 96-98 percentile in jee main can give you nit sikkim but the condition you have decent percentage in board that is 75% . there is 2 round of counselling one is conducted by josaa which consists 7 round of counselling and organise by csab which is in 2 round then when you selected for nit sikkim then verify you document and get admission easily

Course Curriculum Overview :

the course is basically the same as all nits there is 2 mid sem exam each of 15 marks and one end sem exam in one semester .faculty is also good here they are really helpful they are well qualified and teaching way is also good to undestand the theory as well practical related visulization .and class ratio of our college is 1:4

Internships Opportunities :

intership is really good for kind of all branch good companies give for intership every year,many student get chances for intership. many students gets an offer from big institution like iisc ,iits also companies like nhpc power grid also some student get chance to do intership from abroad also overall in intership point of view nit Sikkim is a good option among northern nits.

Placement Experience :

campus point of view you are studying in nit Sikkim thn you always want to get placed so around 75-80% student get placed every year many companies visits for intership as well pacment cse student takes more advantage due to demand of IT in india there is limited placment in core branch for campus point of view but its overall good companies like intel,bel,powergrid mc cafe ,vedanta,bits mapper so its satisfactory

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

the fee structure is good there is full fee wavier for sc and st student there is also a facility in fee wavier for general obc quota it basically depends on family income if your family income below 1 lakh then there is full fee wavier and your family income is between 1-5 lakh then you have to pay 2/3rd of the fee also there is lot more program for scholarship

Campus Life :

campus life is crowded there is lot more activities every week to take participate other than studies so campus life is good nit sikkim organize fests every year like udgam,abhiyantran to get more knowledge and enjoyment also , nit sikkim have a small library but you can get every tpes of book that is academic also time passbook so limited quantity but overall good

Hostel Facilities :

nit Sikkim have 4-5 hostels for boys 3 hostels for girls there 3 to 4 student live in each room they give table bed chair for study and live thier cleanness is everywhere so hostel point of view its satisfactory but there is a problem with mess always students complaining about food quality so the mess is not much good but due to hillly area its good yaar because of limited source

My admission and life at SMIT

Placement Experience:

The placement cell is very active and well equipped to bring recruiters from diverse group of organisations. The pre final and final year students are allowed to sit for interview. The highlight this year for me was Mercedes Benz hiring a student from Mechanical Department giving a very high package. A good chunk of people get placed every year. I am also looking forward to placement opportunities on campus, I believe there'll be enough opportunities.

I have chosen this course because this course can help me learn both the coding and electronics part. Faculties are well qualified but sometimes they are not able to explain the things and sometimes they also avoid our doubt if we chok in the middle. We appear for three term exam in every 2 months. Placement Experience:

After 5th semester, the college has on-campus internship options and after during 7th semester, you will be eligible to sit for campus placements. Many companies come for campus placement including IBM, NVIDIA, Deloitte, etc. PLacements for CSE, ECE, and EEE are very good. In 2023 highest placement was from EEE of 44 lakhs from NVIDIA. In Mechanical most of the students get PPO. For Civil, very least options are available. Usually, 80% of students get placed every year.

My college overall experience!

Placement Experience:

Several companies come for campus placement. Third years are elligible for summer internships and fourth years can get placement + Internship offer for the last semester internship. The college provides us with pre-placement training which is very helpful which I'm currently undergoing. The placement record of the college has been satisfactory till now. We also get sessions from alumnus who tell us their experience and guide us through their experience. The placement drives can be improved hope for more companies and more opportunities to be given to every students.
