JEE Advanced - AIR 576, JEE Mains - 296/360 AIR-124, BITSAT- Score-390, VITEE- AIR-176, I chose Computer Science and Engineering at IIT(BHU), Varanasi. I have been fascinated with computers since I was young. I always had a keen interest in Programming. Since Computer Science is an in-demand branch.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum of IIT (BHU), Varanasi has been very meticulously designed by the HODs of various Departments. The courses are so designed that they help to inculcate a passion for research in the students in the first year itself. There are 3 Computer Courses in the first year itself, of which one is a basic programming course and the other two (Data Structures and IT Workshop) hold vast potential for research.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes, my college does provide opportunities for internships for the Third Year students in various companies. The students are selected through an interview for various countries. Tech Giants like Facebook, Microsoft, Oracle, Amazon visit the institute every year during both internship and placement season.Various other companies like Infosys, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs , Walmart also visit our college for internships.

Placement Experience :

The placements and job opportunities at IIT (BHU), Varanasi are excellent. Every year the institute records almost 100% placements in undergraduates. For the Computer Science stream, Tech Giants like Facebook, Microsoft, Oracle, Amazon visit the institute every year during both internship and placement season. Every year we have at least one student bagging 1.5cr+ package and at least two in the 1cr+ range.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fees at IIT Varansi is in accordance with Govt. policy for the fees at various IITs. The fees is around 2.5 lacs per annum, including the academic, hostel,mess, and miscellaneous fee. The fee is at par with the various engineering colleges of the country. There are concessions/fee waivers for SC, ST, economically weaker sections as well.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Yes there are various Scholarships for SC, ST and Economically Weaker sections. The scholarships are given on the basis of Merit. All commercial banks provide education loan to IIT students at very reasonable rate of interest.

Campus Life :

We have an excellent campus life .The campus is always buzzing with activity with various events being organised regularly. The gender ratio is less in our college due to the fewer number of girl students. We, the students definitely have parties in our Hostels and Wings about twice a month or so.

Exam Structure :

No, they were not that frequent so as to leave us with a hectic day nor were they chilled out. We had labs regularly along the courses as and when it was scheduled in the time table. We had around 2-3 labs per week. We have three exams in each semester, two Periodical examinations and one End Semester exam. In the periodicals we have at most two exams in one day, which becomes a little hectic but is still manageable.

Faculty :

The faculties at our college are very knowledgeable and experienced. The faculties themselves have degrees from the best colleges in the world. They are extremely qualified and also have a great passion for teaching. They are very friendly and while teaching they are so friendly that it doesn't even appear that they are so senior to us.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The subject of Biotechnology is of great importance and is very new and interesting too. The subjects offered are relevant and insightful as they offer knowledge on all aspects of the field. The curriculum is in correspondence to the syllabus of entrance exams like GATE making the preparation easier. We have exams every 4 months. The schedule is decent but there are lesser gaps than required between exams. The practical exams are sometimes conducted in the gaps between the exams.

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester we are eligible for placement drive in our campus. Comoanies like flipcart bulebook etc have visited here but the offers was very less. Average package is 4 LPA and Highest package is 7 LPA till the date. Around 40 percentage of students get placed. My plan after getting the degree is that taking job from off campus. Hope so i will get it
