maims review

Remarks :

I gave the Common entrance test (CET) of ggsipu university in which i scored a rank of 740. I knew this rank was good enough to get me into some of the best IP colleges in Delhi. my top priority colleges were Maharaja agrasen institute of management studies (MAIMS) and Vivekanand Institute of professional studies (VIPS). When the allotment process started, I got selected in Maims in the second round of the selection process. I was asked to transfer a certain amount of money to finalize my seat. then I was asked to visit the college to complete the remaining admission process and submit the remainder fees.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course consists of a total of 6 semesters. Each semester has minimum 4 theory subjects and 4 practical subjects. we are also given a choice between two subjects each semester. these subjects are called the 'elective' subjects. the faculty is great. all the subject teachers are very well educated in their respective subjects and have knowledge of what they teach. they are helpful and friendly towards the students.

Internships Opportunities :

College offers many internship opportunities. the faculty provides links and contacts of many big companies in the media and communications industry. it is compulsory to do an internship after every two semesters.

Placement Experience :

This course asks you to do atleast one summer training/internship every year. Teachers help a lot in finding internships and provide us with many opportunities. Placement after graduation is also very good.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The total annual fees of the maharaja agrasen institute of management studies can range from 90,000 to around 1 lakh rupees. I believe the college also provides certain scholarships and financial assistance to students. As far as I know, there are no campus jobs available here.

Campus Life :

there are various societies that one can be a part of. There is a society for dance, music, theatre, literature, commerce, photography, and many more. Regular fests and events also take place in college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Journalism Honours, this course very practical based which requires real life exposure. Faculty is preparing us from the 1st semester for real life exposures we have given assignments like real life industry. I think the course should be more practical based rather than giving 5 assignments like a burden give 1 assignment with a plenty of time that requires a detailed research with gives student a chance to really involve in the assignment and do the work. Exams happen every 5 months, and the gap for preparation in between exams is plenty good.

Placement Experience:

College somehow lacks in conducting the placement drives. The management needs to work on the placement area. Even though a placement drive is happening during the covid with the help of links and emails but a face-to-face discussion and interview had its own advantage. Also, the college should conduct a seminar for students for understanding the tactics during the placement drive.

Admission:

GGSIPU conduct common entrance test (CET) for admission process. To be a part of (CET) firstly I filled the form of (CET) around mid of may. After the result announced of (CET), there was three round of counseling. In the counseling process firstly I prefer colleges on the rank basis then there was three counseling round.

Placement Experience:

In the matter of internship they do not provide any internship and also do not guide about the internship. At the time of admission, they make fake promises to provide an internship.
