Personal Experience

Remarks :

The admission process took online due to covid, rank, cut-off, and college choice filling was online through a site created by IPU. I had to visit the college only after finalizing it online for payment of pending fees. I applied to DU as well but I didn't score a good rank. I applied in Vedatya and in IHM and got top colleges but didn't attend as it was my backup plan. I didn't avail any quota admission as I belong to the general category. But there are many quotas available like sports, EWS, SC, ST, etc. The admission criteria for my program B.Com.(Hons.) was, a Common Entrance Test(CET) was conducted after that rank list of students comes and cut-off of each college is released. The eligibility criteria for the CET was above 60% in 12th. The admission process was very smooth, quick, and hassle-free. The college fees were to be submitted in college itself, there to the crowd was arranged systematically. In college, it didn't take more than 30 minutes for the complete process.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum has a total of 6 semesters, with 2 semesters in a year. Each semester has 4 to 5 subjects. In each subject, there are 4 units. I chose this course as it was of interest and a first step to achieve my goal. There are many teachers on the campus. The teachers are well qualified and have strong knowledge in their fields. The term exams are conducted after each semester and they are not difficult nor easy to pass. If the students listen to the teacher in class and do timely revision he/she can easily pass the exams.

Placement Experience :

As I am a student of 1st year so I am unaware of the placement process. Various companies visit during placement and offers are made according to companies' needs. But my college is very reputed and among the top 3 colleges of IPU so the placements are good which are well paid, which can be assured from past records and seniors. My plans after getting a degree are to pursue MBA or start my own business.

Fees and Financial Aid :

The fees are very high as compared to other DU colleges. Not every student can afford it. The annual fee is 1,01,800. As we know there are various other costs also other than fees like traveling cost, books, and stationery. So please think wisely. I didn't avail myself of any scholarship, financial assistance, or job.

Campus Life :

I got admission in 2020 so no fest was conducted due to covid. Only a fresher's party was conducted when the lockdown was relaxed. The party was superb, perfect, and fun from decoration to food to DJ. In the auditorium various performances were given by college societies, Mr. and Ms. Fresher competition was also there. The library is fully equipped with good books of the latest edition and in good quality. There's also a book bank facility in which the students pay 5,000 for the complete 3 years which is refundable. In this, the students get to keep the books for the complete semester and have to return them to get books for next semester. Other than this facility also students can issue books. The classroom has an option of projection, classes are air-conditioned and have cushioned benches for students. There are various sports facilities available like a basketball court, football field, gym, lawn tennis court, and an indoor stadium. There are many clubs for literally every interest of students.

PGDAV college does not have a formal campus placement but the college provides good career supports through workshops, internships and alumini networks. Many students get their job through their personal efforts or external internships.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum should be student-centered and flexible enough to support the learning needs of all students. It should also meet the current and long-term needs of students. A comprehensive curriculum should focus on all domains of learning, including social-emotional, physical, and cognitive.
