Remarks :
The infrastructure was good. The hostels were single seated and the curriculum was good. My supervisor was good but being a new IIT, there was a scarcity of instruments. The XRD wasn't working, only one NMR instrument, small labs.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The professors were good and very understanding. The girls to boys ratio was very less for M.Sc students. I can't talk about other departments. The curriculum was okay as some of the important topics were left out. The term exams were moderate and were easy to pass.
Placement Experience :
The package provided was not satisfying compared to other departments. Also the job opportunities were limited to only educational institutes. No industries were involved this time for placement. The highest package was from BYJU's for chemistry department with 8 lacs per annum.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure was a bit expensive than some new IITs. They provide a MCM scholarship. And there are pretty good chances to get recruited by the coaching institutes. But there were none for the chemist jobs.
Campus Life :
For an extrovert it feels like a feast. The campus life is amazing. There are variety of clubs one can join. Gyms and swimming pools are also available. The library was a bit disappointing as it is a new IIT.
Hostel Facilities :
I was given a Single seated room. 8 students shared a pod. And each pod has 2 toilets, 2 bathrooms and 2 urinals. The rent was pretty cheap. And we registered for the hostels during the admission process.
Admission :
