Hotel Management Course Review at NITHM

Remarks :

There is absolutely nothing bad about NITHM. It is a great college with great standard of education. The only thing that can be improved is the internship opportunities for students. Otherwise, I had a blast and those were the best three years of my life so far.

Course Curriculum Overview :

NCHMCT decides the curriculum for all the Hospitality and Hotel Management colleges all over India. The course curriculum is updates regularly keeping in mind the later developments in the Hospitality industry as a whole. Its very comprehensive and interesting.

Placement Experience :

There is a placement cell in place and a full-fledged team who make sure that the majority of students get placed. Leading hotels like Taj, Hyatt, Oberoi, etc come for placements and hire mostly for Operations or Management positions. Average package goes up to 4-5 LPA.

College Events :

The highlight of NITHM is our annual fest called ""Namashya"" where a lot of companies come and hosts workshops and exhibitions. There is a lot to learn from the. Apart from that, there are a lot of cultural fests that happen all through the year. All festivals are celebrated with a lot of vigour and enthusiam.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Since NITHM is a government college, the fees is very nominal as compared to the private colleges that charge a lot. The fees for my batch was 4 Lakh for the entire course. It is a three year course. The fees included tuition as well as accommodation fees.

Campus Life :

There are a lot of conferences and fairs organised by our college. There are separate clubs for music, sports, photography, etc so that the students get to explore their hobbies along with academics. Apart from that we have 2 gyms, 1 swimming pool and one big ground where students could train.

Hostel Facilities :

Being a college of Hotel Management, the hostels are extremely clean and maintained. there are separate hostels for girls and boys with proper security and surveillance. The accommodation is on a twin sharing basis as well as on a single basis depending on the requirement for the student.

Admission :

I got selected for the course B.Sc in Hospitality and Hotel Management at NITHM by appearing for NCHMJEE conducted by the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology. The admissions depend on the All India Rank (AIR) and then the selection is done after counselling sessions with different colleges.

Faculty :

The faculty is world class. All the professors have such good hands-on experience in the industry that they make it easier for the students to understand each subject in detail. They are very strict about the and discipline of students and maintain very high standards for the same.

After completion of their 3rd-year students are eligible for campus placements. This campus is a hub for placements, especially for IT and other software-related courses. The highest package is 3600000 per anum and the average package is 500000 per anum. More than 60% of students are getting placements. My plan after getting the degree is to secure a job in my core subject.
