Remarks :

NIT Meghalaya is a decent institute as par as studies are concerned. You will have ample of chance to study and learn new stuffs, being a new institute you get a lot of stuffs and initiatives to be done and handled single handy which gives another chance not only to learn and showcase your skills but also to use it in future for organizing similar stuffs in future.Being a MeghNITe , it was always a cutting edge for me in interviews and people used to literally appreciate the exposure I had even from being a remote located college of India ( though it was not pretty different to what a normal NITian would had in other NIT).If you do same thing in limited resources to what your competitor does with ample of resources, even having same outcome it?Ûªs more likely to get appreciated and this is what happens when you are studying at new NIT.Coming to infrastructure : NIT M has decent labs ( comparable to even many of old IITs ) ,mix of youth ,energetic and quite experienced pool of faculties , prime location and technically sound students as college.I would suggest to go ahead with decision and consider it a fair Chance to study at NITM (Provided you do not have any better option).

Course Curriculum Overview :

Firstly the quality of teaching in NITs is much better than many other engineering colleges in India. It may not live to your expectations but in reality it has the best faculty training the some of the smartest kids of the nation. In TLR criteria (Teaching Learning and Resources), NIT-M ranked 11 in India. (Source: National Institutional Ranking Framework, MHRD)

Placement Experience :

2021 PLACEMENTSCSE dept.1.Out of a batch of 30 students 15 students got 10 lpa, 1 student got 25 lpa rest got placements in between 8?ÛÒ9 lpa in some campus pools 2 students got 25 lpa its far good in covid times companies like TRC,Amazon,Meesho,Innovaccer,Goldman Sachs ,Siemens visited even provided internship opportunities too.Ece dept.Highest of ece dept remains around 25 lpa and average you will going to get Avg between 8 to 10 lpa.Electrical dept.Every year highest of electrical dept is around 19 to 20 lpa because psus visits every year like PSIL and others so placement scenario is quite good for electrical students here .Avg may be around 9 lpa. Companies like ONGC, NIPCO,Vedanata,L&T, CEAT,TCS,POSOCO Visited.Mechanical dept.The avg of mechanical is also quite good bcz companies like Bosch,Maruti Suzuki,CEAT, NHAI,L&T,TCS and psus visits every year .Avg is around 6 to 9 lpa.Civil dept.Dont know much about civil dept but as per my knowledge i know a senior who got a package of 10 lpa may be more have got.But avg as far as my knwoledge would be around 5 to 8 lpa.

Campus Life :

Since we are working on a temporary campus, right now we don?Ûªt have any on campus hostel facilities. The hostels are distributed in the city and bus facilities are provided from hostels to the campus. So if you are planning to join in NITM, I can only explain about how your first year hostel life gonna be like since we will be shifting to our permanent campus soon.The life in hostels of NIT Meghalaya is multi-faceted community life. It is like all the cultures of India coming together under one roof.In first year, you will be in Bamboo Huts Boys hostel, the freshman hostel. It is located in North eastern Hill University (1025 acres campus). Its not like other engineering college hostels where you have big buildings, first floor, second floor etc?Û_. Its just something different here. I will just need one word to describe our hostel. FREEDOM.

Placement Experience:

Placements are provided but i haven't really minded it. As for me i would go for competitive exam such as SCC and work hard to get in. My goal is to only get a degree so i can give exams. I also hope that everyone knows which field they should go into.

Life in a decent college

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course is a professional course and its curriculum is pretty difficult. B.A.LL.B(Hons) is a 5 year course which spans to over 10 semesters. Some of th aspect that made me opt for this particular course is that one need not do a 4 year B.A. course and then 3 year LL.B course when one can do all that in 5 years. Additionally, after graduation from this course one can practice as an advocate directly after passing the BAR exams. B.A.LL.B(Hons) is a course which has both theory and practical. For most of the first two years pre-law papers will be taught to have a basic understanding of concepts and to build up a foundation for grasping the more complex papers to be taught in the higher semesters. This course also includes interning and this is implemented from the 1st year itself which is great exposure for students. The course however needs revision as it is pretty old. Exams can pretty difficult or easy depending on one's own capabilities and preparation as the paper can be tough.

Very good university.

Admission:

I got admission in this course after qualifying my Bachelor of computer application with 70 percent of marks. Any graduates from any discipline with minimum 45 percent of marks from a recognised university are eligible to apply for admission in this course. The admission process was very good in our university.

Placement Experience:

Internship facility was provided by the university. The university was average in placement and job opportunities. Many companies like Big Bazaar, Vodafone, Airtel, Max cement, BSNL, Pepsico etc come to our university every year for campus recruitment. They offered minimum salary package of 2.5 lakh rupees annually and maximum salary package of 8 lakh rupees per annum.
