Remarks :

Iam a currently persuing btech in mechanical engineering from JEC. It was established in 1960 and holds a good name among the engineering colleges in Assam. It has a widely spread campus and almost every hostel owns a field for playing games such as cricket and football. The college hosts its annual fest phoenix where students participate enthusiastically. It also has clubs such as photography, poetry, art etc which helps to enhance skills of those who are interested in their respective fields. The placements of the college are quite ok ,like if u work hard then you'll grab one...CSE tops the list in terms of placement. About 50% are placed and rest go for gate or try for offcampus placements...For core branches (mech, civil, electrical) the placements are decent ,being run by the state govt the fees is quite affordable for everybody who wishes to persue engineering. The process for admission in JEC is you have to appear the state CEE exam and then sit for counselling

Course Curriculum Overview :

Initially i wanted to go for CSE branch but due to preference i filled, i ended up getting mechanical at JEC. And i dont have any regrets as the friends and the teachers i got here are highly supportive. There are about 100 seats for mechanical engineering students, highest among all other branches. The classes will be divided in sections later on so that facult: student ratio is maintained. The teachers are knowledgeable and very helpful in academic related issues. Our term exams were a bit shifted due to corona. We have given 2 of are term exams and it is quit easy to pass if you have attended the classes regularly.

Internships Opportunities :

companies like cognizant, tcs, vedanta, dabur, capegemini, oil india limited,HUL, hexagon and various other companies come to recruit the graduates with a decent salary package provide good internships and

Placement Experience :

The placements are quite good for CSE branch, more than 50% are placed almost every year in companies such as TCS, WIPRO, COGNIZANT,etc and rest of the core branches like mechanical, civil, electrical various psu's like OIL,vedanta, and various startups too come for recruitment...OIL hires 2-3 with a package of 12 lpa and rest give 6-8 lpa in avg.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees structure of JEC is quite affordable, as being run the state government and is totally value for money... Yearly its 11k and 44k for four years which is quite less for engineering. There are various scholarships which you can opt for like ISHAN UDAY for north eastern region (provided you shouldn't have dropped a year after 12th) and Merit-cum-means scholarship for minorities.

Campus Life :

The college has its annual fest phoenix in the month of march-april. And the aura it creates is awesome. The college has its library from which you can borrow books if u have library card which will be provided after admissions.. Jec also has its bus service which helps the students residing in pg to come to the college If you join hostel then it will give true values and experiences of life which will help in the long run...the college has various inter hostel competitions like cricket, football, badminton, table tennis, etc in which students represent their hostels. There are various clubs for students like photography, art, poetry etc for inculcating inner hobbies... Overall campus life is good

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel has a bed, a personal study table, wardrobe... A mess room , A common room for enjoying cricket matches with seniors and for other activities. A gymnasium but you wont be able to use it in first year unless the seniors allow...a small library for engg related books... The meal provide in the hostel is quite decent. It runs with a routined menu... Give non-veg and veg food on respective days... Hostel fees -?12000 for 1 year and degrades afterwards. Mess fees is about - ?2000-?2500 monthly The pg will cost you around -?5000 per months

It's a fact that the Indian education system is not designed or promoted for skills sharing. But if you are in CIT the scenes are quite different. In CIT various seminars and programs related to a high balance between a curriculum and an industrial side

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have choose EE because it's have both core and it features so i believe that I will go for core but if the situation changes then accordingly i will shift. The curriculum is pretty good in this campus according to me that's why I have choose this course. I don't think I have enough thinking level to suggest about that. Before exam there should be some gap for studies purpose I mean to say classes should be off. And everything is good.

Placement drives are held in December of every year for the students who complete their 7th semester. Placements are quite good over here, The highest package this year is 2.4 crore and the average package fluctuates between 20 to 25 LPA every year. One can also go for higher studies, there is no harm.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My branch is Computer Science and Engineering. I am interested in computer skills like gaming, web development, coding, etc that's why I choose this course. In my college, every facility is provided like labs, sports ground and kits, medical facility, hostels and mess and, well educated and skilled faculty. Faculty : student ratio is around 1:50. Faculties are well experienced (Ph.D. holders) and have good teaching skills. But, I want to mention one thing that, you can't totally depend on the faculty, you need to pay extra effort by itself. B.Tech is of 4 years course that is divided into 8 semesters. Every semester 2 main exams are conducted. Exams are not much easy but also not too hard. You need to focus on academic too for decent pointers. If you are a sincere student then getting a good pointer is not hard.
