Entrance Preview :

I took GATE 2014 entrance exam. All India Rank: 54. I came to know the department of mathematics of IIT Madras has an excellent atmosphere of doing research with its reputed faculty members.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I completed four course works (courses: Analysis, Differential Equations, Fourier Analysis and Approximation Th. ) during my first year of PhD successfully. However I do feel that the amount of courses may be increased i.e some more advanced topics can be taught in the first year of course work.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes. The stipend varies from 15 K to 40 K. I know many companies visit periodically but I do not have their details now.

Placement Experience :

The placement opportunity is very good. The following companies came to campus TCS, Flipkart, Amazon, Microsoft, Oracle, VISA, Google etc. The average package varies from 8 Lacks to 12 Lacks per annum. Across various sectors such as IT/software, analytics/consulting, finance, teaching & research, Public Sector Units/Government sectors etc were also a part of this placements.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is feasible for me. Institute fees 11213 per semester(Tuition fees 2500, Others-2963,Hostel Est Charge 5000 ).

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

There are many institute scholarships like merit cum means etc. Loans are being provided by the state bank of india, institute branch. Generally I have seen people taking Rs 1.5 lack lone.

Exam Structure :

Our institute follows a very good exam structure. We have two quiz (20 marks each) with a gap of at least 30 days. And after 2nd quiz , final semester exam of 60 marks is conducted after 30 days of 2nd quiz(exam). Examination schedule is fine for me.

Faculty :

All faculty members are well qualified and they have Phd degrees. Most of the faculty have Post Doc degrees as well. They are well experienced in teaching and constantly doing good research. They are also being evaluated by considering students' feed form (TCF) at the end of each course.

Placement Experience:

Final-year students are eligible for campus placements. TCS, Capgemini. The packages vary from 2lakh - 4 lakh per annum. 60 percent of students from the final year across various fields of subjects get selected.

Admission:

I had applied online in the college website for the Admission Test to get into the college. There are certain eligibility criterias which are required to be fulfilled to get admission. All the criterias were fulfilled by me and so i got the admission.

Placement Experience:

No. No companies come for campus placements. All students have to look outside to get the job. Many of my classmates were struggled to get the job after completion of course. No figures to say when there was no campus placements. I heard that few companies came for placements but all were call centre companies.

Remarks:

The university works fine. But some elements such as stripend for everyone was not provided and if it is regulated then the research scholars will be able to pursue with the research without any hurdles. There is no any other issues with the university.

Remarks:

Good and stuff professors. Nice infrastructure. Near to Arabic bus stand or near tvs tolgate bus stop or jail corner bus stop. Railway junction is less than 10 kilometres. It's an EV Ramaswamy (EVR) land. He donate his land 9 acres for poor students education. In this college yearly more than 5000 people's studying in this college more than 60% students are low class. The students are get scholarship from government.

Remarks:

Ground and gym facilities and travel facilities are to be upgraded as it is located in a remote place from town. Mess food can be better, but with the menu and the price one cannot push much farther.
