Remarks :

This is one of its kind institution, which provides quality education alongside incorporating a more sustainable edge to its students. At TERI University, there is a vision for designing models and processes for promoting a sustainable growth The institution is deemed to be a University and is counted among one of its kind, providing exposure to students alongside strengthening their basics. The only drawback is the high amount of fees involved. The admission process includes clearing entrance exam conducted by the University, followed by a panel interview with concerned teachers of respective departments, under which the student applied for, clearing which they have to pay the fees within one week I chose this college because it has a very high placement percentage (100%), and is counted amongst the top colleges providing training for research.

Course Curriculum Overview :

This is a booming field, with high packages and opportunities. The student to faculty ratio is pretty good, unlike other private institutions, they don't want to have more and more students under a particular course, instead, they focus upon quality education. All the faculties are atleast one to two years experienced in teaching after PhD. Exams are taken in quite a methodical manner, and teachers are quite flexible and motivating at all times. The difficulty level of the exam was that it just questioned the basics of the subject, and discouraged rote learning.

Placement Experience :

Students become eligible for campus placements after they complete their major projects in the third semester. Many companies including big names like Aditya Birla group, WWF, Indian infrastructure, Indane petroleum, Giz etc visited. On average, starting salary of 3 to 5 lakhs per annum is provided. 80% of students get placed from the campus, and 100% of them get jobs five to six months after completing their graduation. I plan to take admission in PhD from a recognised institution, and further build up on my career path from there onwards.

Fees and Financial Aid :

The only downside of studying under this institution is the very high fees involved (one lakh per semester). Scholarships and financial assistance are provided to students who top in respective subjects once they reach the final semester.

Campus Life :

REtopia is the annual tech fest being conducted in the month of November and is for two days. Almost every book pertaining to respective courses are available in the library, and even which are not there, are made available once it is brought in the notice of librarian. Classrooms and laboratories are fitted with all modern-day equipment at par with technology. There are dedicated hours for extra curricular activities so that studies are not affected. Ecoclubterisas is the official if the handle of Environmental Club at TERI School of Advanced Studies, and they are also quite active on WhatsApp and email.

Admission :

TERI University conducts its own entrance exam, followed by an interview in front of a panel; qualifying which one is eligible for admission.

Interview Experience :

The interview questioned only the basics of the subject and took it further to their application under various fields. Topics mainly included those covered under undergraduate level. The admission process includes clearing the entrance exam followed by an interview. I prepared by reading all the important things learnt at the undergraduate level.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I felt like the course curriculum was designed in such a way that you can easily crack some of the national entrance exams right away. Of course you have to do self study and all but the way course is designed it makes it somewhat more easier. Other than that some papers were tough for example our sir of cell biology used to make very tough question paper while most of the professors copy previour year questions. It usually depends how much a certain student had studied and vice versa for the difficulty.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements after they finish their major project, which is compulsory on site experience offered during 4th semester, upon which all twenty-nine credits depend all top-notch companies like Indian Oil, WWF, RMS, CHEORS, Giz, KPMG, TTC, RMS, Aditya Birla group, Indian infrastructure, Solidaridad amongst others. The starting salary range is from five to 14 lakhs per annum. About 80% of students get placed from campus, however, 100% of the students get jobs within 5 to 6 months of getting employed. My plans are to get a PhD from a reputed institution and to further on build my career from there onwards.

Admission:

The admission process is pretty stiff. The seat allotment is on the basis of merit list. Students have to appear for the entrance exam. The merit list is prepared on the basis of the scores of entrance exam and overall academic record of the student.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is one of its kind. The institute has initiated programs which are not available at any other institute. The research work is especially good. The course will establish a legit base in the research field which will help you to pursue a career in the Bioinformatics industry in India and abroad.
