Remarks

The Energy Research Institute School of Advanced Studies (TERI-SAS) is one of its kind colleges providing top-notch education to all of its students. The placement percentage is hundred percentage, which speaks for itself about the quality of education being provided here. It is deemed to be a University and is NAAC accredited A grade institution. The teachers are very helpful and the classes are fun. Only downside of this institution is the high amount of fee required, rest all is fine.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose this course because research and development sector is the hot topic nowadays, especially with the outbreak of Corona; everyone has put their faith on R&D sector, so it is a thriving field with many opportunities. In TERI School of Advanced Studies, this is one of the renowned courses all over India, with its alumni gaining prestigious fellowships all over the world. The student: faculty ratio is 1: 2. Despite being a private institution, the no. of students are limited due to the selection procedure, which serves only the creamy layer to study here. All faculties bear either a PhD and/or post-doc degrees. Teaching methods were fun, interactive, conceptual and lay down strong foundations for the future. Due to the pandemic, the sessions started late so exams were taken in a hurry; and were mostly concept-based, with the application of topics studies throughout different courses.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Summer Internships for graduate as well as postgraduate students, wherein they are exposed to the techniques involved for further training. Roles offered include that of an intern, wherein the intern is required to help and learn from a PhD scholar and to expand their bases, alongside making them prepared and well equipped with basic knowledge of handling tools and equipment.

Placement Experience

5

Students become eligible for campus placements after they finish their major project, which is compulsory on site experience offered during 4th semester, upon which all twenty-nine credits depend all top-notch companies like Indian Oil, WWF, RMS, CHEORS, Giz, KPMG, TTC, RMS, Aditya Birla group, Indian infrastructure, Solidaridad amongst others. The starting salary range is from five to 14 lakhs per annum. About 80% of students get placed from campus, however, 100% of the students get jobs within 5 to 6 months of getting employed. My plans are to get a PhD from a reputed institution and to further on build my career from there onwards.

Fees and Financial Aid

The only issue with this institution is the high amount of fees involved, which approximates to one lakh per semester, which amounts to 4 lakhs by the time one completes their master's degree. The scholarships are made available only after one completes their PhD from the same institute.

Campus Life

4

REtopia is the technical fest held during the month of November and is typically a two-day event. All books and journals are available in the library and those of which are not are bought once this is brought into the library's notice. The classrooms and laboratories are equipped with top notch instruments and are at par with the requirements of modern studies. The college not only promotes curricular activities but also extracurricular ones. There is a dedicated zero hour for such activities wherein students can plan, perform and organise various events and competitions in their respective clubs, all without interrupting their studies. There are specially dedicated clubs for the environment, dramatics and sports. The eco-club is very active on Instagram as well as WhatsApp.

Interview Experience

5

After the entrance exam being conducted by the college, there was also an interview round conducted by all faculty members. The questions which were asked included basics about the subjects which were taught at the undergraduate level, cross-linking each and every one of them. I prepared by strengthening all my basic knowledge about the subject and answered all questions confidently and truthfully, and thus was able to clear it.

Campus placements are offered but I am still in my first year so I have no idea. Students usually go for higher studies (PhD) after master's. Clearing entrances becomes a task. They d offer campus placements it's not that intense as it should be.

The students become eligible for placements in the last semester. Primal Group, Allen Career Institute, Akash Institute, etc a lot of companies came for placement. This is a time of recession. So, very few students get placements. My plan is to join the coaching industry as a teacher after my degree.

This time it is a bit hectic bcz of 2 minors and 1 major but I am happy with this.

From final year onwards students become eligible for placements. There are lot of companies like Accenture, flipkart, Amazon, HSBC, etc which offer 5-10 students. The highest package was 50lakhs -1Cr and average is 9- 15 LPA. Usually much students get placed from our college. But this year the percentage is very low could be due the firing of freshers and fear of corporate companies to hire freshers. I Will go for the placements which is still going ( second season ).
