Remarks :

I had always decided upon getting admission into a government college which has a good NIRF ranking and hence I chose jadavpur University. Other than that jadavpur provides unconventional learning based on its vivid learning approach.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course is not monotonous and repetative rather it's dynamic and well structured. The faculty members are experts in there own field and many guest lecturers are invited to impart knowledge. In my course we had a module on Ethnography taken by Dr Amitesh Mukhopadhyay (professor at Department of sociology) which was brilliantly well informed.

Class Size : 48Course Fees : INR 3000 per year

Placement Experience :

The engineering faculty has a good placement with much of the students bagging their own share of placement offers, the placement cell along with student coordinators work hard to bring the best of companies for the student recruitment.

College Events :

Jadavpur University is famous for both its academic legacy and exposure in terms of events, seminars, fellowships etc. The students are left with the onus to choose their respective field of interest like dance, music, drama etc for which separate clubs are run by the students themselves and they even have the liberty to organize events in those fields.

Overall a Standard College; have parallels to its parent college FIEM

Placement Experience:

At the end of the 6th Semester many MNCs and startups like CTS, TCS, Virtusa, Wipro, etc visit our campus for internship opportunities as well as pre-placement offers. Most of the students do crack some or other internship opportunities and get in-hand industry experience. For our batch the highest offer we received is 7LPA and the average package ranges at about 4.5 - 3.5LPA ! Almost everyone does get placed, but the average ranges at about 70%-80%.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements after the 2nd Semester. HCL, OYO, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Dabur, ITC, BYJUs, etc. are brands that visit our college. The highest package was offered 9 LPA by OYO and the average package is somewhat around 4.5LPA. 80% of students are able to crack placements from our college. I am actually looking for an FMCG company after the degree from campus placements.

Distance education in nutrition

Remarks:

The college is a very old and well known one in West Bengal and being a part of the university has helped me learn the reason behind it. The staff and faculties of the college are so helpful and nice that it would be dream to a part of this institution.

Admission:

For the admission process I had to register on the official website and then check out the details of the course along with the eligibility criteria and the fee structure. After this I filled in my details and got a registration number and password through which I could log in and fill up the application form and make the application fee payment along with the first course fee.

The authority should look after the building, accommodation, library and the cafeteria. Library doesn't at all contain a good collection of quality books for individual subjects.The Canteen/Cafeteria is not upto the mark and the building should be remodeled.
