Course Curriculum Overview
Exams are usually very interesting in JUDE. You have to attend classes regularly if you want to keep up with the course and whats more it is very interesting to attend these classes because of the very modern and lively course structure. There are two exams in a year, one per semester. For 30 marks. And remaining 2 internals per semestee per paper, 10 marks each.
Internships Opportunities
Yes yes, I have seen many students have been offered many good internships and even been offered full-time roles from my college and especially my department. There are a host of companies, publishing houses etc who would jump at the chance of hiring someone from the Jadavpur University Department of English
Placement Experience
So for jobs and other opportunities, students usually have to take it in their stride and work hard to secure their future. Since after a master's in English you can go many different ways, it is basically up to you what you choose. Be it higher academia or corporate, the college faculty and placement cell are always ready to help you.
Fees and Financial Aid
The semester and exam fee is 44 rupees per semester and all over, there is no semester fee other than that. During admission, you have to pay around 1200-1300 rupees including registration and enrollment, etc. For the library, there are no additional charges and it is all included in the registration fee.
Campus Life
The campus is full of clubs and activities that one might wish to join. You can pick anything that piques your interest and the seniors are always very welcoming towards new admissions. The campus life is to die for, every year the annual fest, Sanskriti, literally goes on for more than a month with renowned artists coming down to perform and what's more, it is all free to the students of the university
Admission
The entrance exam is perhaps one of the most challenging yet fun exam in the country for literature students. It does not go by the mcq version like cuet, but rather focuses on the students literary depth and perception like it should.
Faculty
All the faculty here is extremely helpful and resourceful. The department is right now led by the HoD prof. Manojit Mondal does an excellent job of coordinating the course curriculum. The department offers courses that are very lively and interesting at the same time, fostering a love for literature.
Other Applied Colleges
