Remarks
Pursuing my PhD from the Central Rice Research Institute is giving me new vision and perspective; it is inspiring to be around talented and dedicated people who are committed to their cause. I am enjoying my time here in spite of the insanely busy schedule.
Course Curriculum Overview
The PhD course does not have a stringent course guidelines, there are a minimum number of reviews for both books and articles and laboratory work is given prime importance. The course is flexible and I am involved in molecular characterization of the new kinds of bacteria in rice crops.
Placement Experience
Central Rice Research Institute is primarily a research institute and therefore don't expect any placement cells or career development cells. But the institute has a recognition in research in crop protection.
Fee Structure And Facilities
There is no question of fee structure for a research course, the stipend is paid per month, and it differs with the seniority of the researcher, the policy of the University Grants Commission and the institute at the time of joining.
Campus Life
There are no cultural or sports for extracurricular activities like a regular college but there are guest lectures, seminars, workshops and field projects within and out of the university. There are also a few programs abroad, that I am hoping to join. The laboratory and library are well-equipped.
