Remarks :

I have Choosen NIT SIKKIM because of wrong counseling. But Now I am enjoying the cold weather of Sikkim. Placements Statistics of my college is very high, if we compare with NITS. I have opted Electronics and Communication Engineering because, I have very much interest in electronic devices, when I was in class 12, I was always thinking , how this mobile phone is made , How this hard drive made . How we can improve.

Course Curriculum Overview :

My Curriculum was last updated on 2018 and contains very good syllables as per industry demands. Dr. Surajit Kundu teaches us Digital Communication and Information Theory and he is one of the best teacher. Dr. Ayan Chatterjee teaches Signal and Systems , EMFT and Antenna Theory. Every Students call him God,because of his teaching style and helping nature towards students.

Class Size : 40Course Fees : INR 24834 per year

Placement Experience :

In our Campus Intel ,Infosys, Marvell Semiconductor ,LNT Infotech, LNT construction, Adobe, Microsoft, Power grid, IBM,walkswagonetc big companies. Right i dont have information about how many students have placed and in which companies.

College Events :

Campus life is like hostel-mess-class again repeat. We have culture event named as UDGAM and Technical event named as Abhiyantran. We invite all India students to Participate in the same events. We organise various cultural activity.

Campus Life :

My college is within 7 acres. Campus is temporary. Search for Permanent land ia going on. In 2018 we had done a 1 month strike for Permanent campus. There is a small Playground, Academic Building and Administrative Building only is there.

Hostel Facilities :

In one room 5 people each we live. 2 double decker is there . Hostel Facilities are not up to the point. For 150 students there is a very small common room. Many times we face water crisis. There is a distance between home state students and other state students. Because of some home state students dont behave like good human being with others.

Hostel Fee : INR 47400 per year

My admission and life at SMIT

Placement Experience:

The placement cell is very active and well equipped to bring recruiters from diverse group of organisations. The pre final and final year students are allowed to sit for interview. The highlight this year for me was Mercedes Benz hiring a student from Mechanical Department giving a very high package. A good chunk of people get placed every year. I am also looking forward to placement opportunities on campus, I believe there'll be enough opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum here is quite good. Here we get a lot to learn. The course have a credit system so you must have a good score in the subject with greater credits. The academic environment here is quite good overall.

Students become eligible from 7th sem and placement was good before but In this 2024 batch it's the worst placement of all time only 58% students got placement with less package because of recession Im looking for a placement and further plan is to work for a company

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen this course because this course can help me learn both the coding and electronics part. Faculties are well qualified but sometimes they are not able to explain the things and sometimes they also avoid our doubt if we chok in the middle. We appear for three term exam in every 2 months. Some subjects are very difficult to pass because we are unable to understand them in class

Placement Experience:

After 5th semester, the college has on-campus internship options and after during 7th semester, you will be eligible to sit for campus placements. Many companies come for campus placement including IBM, NVIDIA, Deloitte, etc. PLacements for CSE, ECE, and EEE are very good. In 2023 highest placement was from EEE of 44 lakhs from NVIDIA. In Mechanical most of the students get PPO. For Civil, very least options are available. Usually, 80% of students get placed every year.

Course Curriculum Overview:

All the courses are very good here. All faculties have done phd in their respective domains. There are at least 4 lab technicians in one lab. There are all types of labs available. Teachers are very friendly. We get funds for our projects from our college.

My college overall experience!

Placement Experience:

Several companies come for campus placement. Third years are elligible for summer internships and fourth years can get placement + Internship offer for the last semester internship. The college provides us with pre-placement training which is very helpful which I'm currently undergoing. The placement record of the college has been satisfactory till now. We also get sessions from alumnus who tell us their experience and guide us through their experience. The placement drives can be improved hope for more companies and more opportunities to be given to every students.
