Remarks :
Overall college is good except for a few drawbacks. The research going on in the college is ninimum, it should increase in order to increase the college's importance in the nation. Also the campus is very lush green, it is filled with trees everywhere.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course is outdated, same things have been taught to students since a very long time. There are 2 semesters in a year, each semester containing of 2 sessional examinations which are based only on a part of the syllabus, and one end semester which includes everything you have learnt for the entire semester. The labs are chill, though the completion that we are supposed to complete before the upcoming class is a bit large.
Placement Experience :
BHU Varanasi has been consistent with the placement record of more than 90% of students placed every year. Last year (2018), more than 95% of student got job offers from top recruiters. Top companies that visited the campus for placements include Microsoft, Google, Flipkart, Uber, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Visa and Adobe. Top job profiles offered to Management students were Risk Analyst, Consultant, Business Analyst, Investment Banking, Sales & Marketing, hr and Operations.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Following is the fee structure Semester tuition fee - 66, 000 Mess and accommodation per semester - 47, 000 The fee structure is higher than other nits though not very high, and it also avails scholarships for minority students and ebc students
Campus Life :
The extracurricular activities here are very good, there are clubs for evey interest of a student, no matter what you like, there's a club for you, and all of them are pretty good. The sports facilities provided are exceptional for badminton, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, kabaddi and kho kho, other sports facilities are also very good. Being an engineer college, the gender ratio here of girls to boys is not very good, there is 1 girl in every 7 students, cultural and religious diversity here is vast and all students mix well inspite of this. There are also students from other nations, mostly gulf countries, they too don't face any special problems.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel rooms are good, there is seperate zone for first years which restrains ragging of first years by seniors, infrastructure is neat, the first year and second year hostels are sharing 2 students are accommodated in 1 room, 3rd and 4th year students get sepeeate rooms.
Alumni/Alumna :
Yup. Alumni and senior students are helpful, they affected us through counseling time and after that during all process of setting hostel rooms, and making all documents. They are best, there is no any single case of ragging. BTW we all working on groups on basis of student choice as like sports academy.
Admission :
VNIT is one of the 31 nits in India, it is a well reputated college second to only the iit, the competition to get admitted is hence immense. Admission to this college is through the infamous JEE main called to be one of the toughest exams in the world. Admission to my branch is given to only the top 2 percentile of competing 1. 5 million students. I too had to compete and that's how I got here.
Faculty :
The faculties are well qualified, and are good at teaching their subject though there are some profeesors who don't care about the students understanding at all, all they aim is to finish the syllabus assigned to them before the given time is over.
