Entrance Preview :

I took the NIFT entrance exam. For MFM, there is no drawing & creative test but for the other courses there is a written test & a creative test. The test is followed by a GD & interview.

Course Curriculum Overview :

MFM deals with fashion marketing & management. It includes merchandising, buying, management, marketing, enterprenuership, fashion basics, visual merchandising, social media marketing etc. It is a very good course for people who want to work in the fashion & lifestyle industry.

Internships Opportunities :

The college makes sure that every student has an internship in their hands before the semester is over. MFM students can go into merchandising, marketing, market research, PR, buying etc. The stipend offered depends on the brand/designer & the profile. Generally it ranges from 5000 to 25000.

College Events :

NIFT celebrates all festivals from Lohri to Dandiya to Diwali to Republic Day. Every year in December there is a inter-college sports fest & in February there is the college fest called Mileage.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The college offers both loans & scholarships to students. The process for both is very simple & only a little documentation is required to apply for them.

Campus Life :

The campus life is really good in NIFT. One is always surrounded but creative & opinionated people in the campus who are not afraid to share their opinions & views.

Alumni/Alumna :

The alumni meet that happened every year is a very good way for students to learn about the industry. During the course there will be various ways for students to interact with Alumni.

Exam Structure :

The exam structure is very well planned with focus on both theoretical & practical exams equally. Also, sometimes they tend to make weird exam schedule but it's never bad.

Faculty :

The faculty at NIFT Mumbai is one of the best across all NIFT centers. They are well versed with the industry & the course. They teaching is done mainly by presentations in the classroom.

Placement Experience:

There is a dedicated placement cell that looks at the placements of MBA students. The final year students sit for placements. Until now the placements are not so good but it is improving at a steady rate. Companies such as Accenture, Deloitte, Flipkart, Amazon, ICICI Bank and others come for placements. I don’t have a clear idea about the packages offered but it was around 7-8 LPA on an average.

Placement Experience:

Placements here are decent. The average package of the batch is around 8 lakhs, which is nice considering the pandemic. A lot of good companies visit the campus like Goldman Sachs, Ernst, and Young, KPMG, Deloitte, etc. So, if you perform well here then you can get a good placement from the campus.

Remarks:

College is a little fast paced. Each semester lasts only for 3 months where we have to study 8 subjects in addtion to assignment, presentation, class tests.Social life gets affected if you are a localite as you have to travel to powai which isn't well connected via metro and railways.

Entrance Preview:

I got admission on the bases of my undergraduate scores which was very good. Admission process of this college was good and very simple.

Placement Experience:

Companies like JP Morgan, KPMG, PWC, E&Y have come to the campus and offered 10000/- to 20000/- monthly stipend. I have attended roughly one of those. Regretfully, I cannot provide you with the details of the number of students placed and the exact amount offered because I was not a member of the placement cell. But the college had a placement cell which conducted weekly meetings and trained the students for interviews.
