Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The total course was designed for three years. Our curriculum is very vast and tough. We have to cover a lot of syllabi to complete my MS course. Annual exams were conducted frequently and there were other sessional exams also.

Placement Experience

4.5

I got a job in the most famous medical college in our state after completing my post-graduate course in surgery. Our college always offers the best job opportunities and placements to medical students to show their medical skills.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Our course fees were flexible. Not very expensive. It can be easily deposited. I took educational loans to pursue my studies. Because I did not have that amount of money together, so took the education loans.

Campus Life

4

Many extracurricular activities were conducted during my time. There were no restrictions and discriminations among poor and rich or among girls or boys. All are treated equally with the same respect and love.

Hostel Facilities

4

I stayed at my college hostel. Our college also provides PG for every student. But living in a hostel is much more fun than staying at PG. Every kind of facility was provided to us with a big room with an attached wardrobe.

Admission

I took admission to pursue a postgraduate course in Surgery. The admission process for my course was based on the results of NEET PG and after selection, I got to this college for further study. I am an MBBS doctor.

Faculty

4.5

Our college was very unique and all our faculties were very brilliant. They are well-qualified doctors and had the experience of teaching for more than ten years.

Mysore Medical College And Research Institute - [MMCARI], Master of Surgery [MS] (General Surgery)
Reviewed on Nov 21, 2021(Enrolled 2018)

Course Curriculum Overview:

MS General Surgery in MMC was supposed to be the best in Karnataka. But overall, it's not comparable to any top colleges of India. Pros : 1. High OPD patient load. Variety of cases seen. 2. Inpatient load is also good. From 50 to 100 cases on an average per week in any unit. 3. Good OT setup and availability of Laparoscopy. 4. Due to PGs in almost all departments, any emergency was attended to faster and was available for on-call consultation. 5. PGs can attend Regular CMEs conducted in and around Mysore. Cons : 1. Academics is decent at best. Regular classes were canceled for almost the entire 2 yrs. 2. No Regular tests or term exams were conducted nor was there any special interest in research. 4. Surgical hands-on training is given only in the last part of the final year if senior staff allow it. 5. No Laparoscopic training was given. Only handling of instruments is learned. 6. Infrastructure and facilities are limited. 7. Thesis and Exam preparation only in the last 3 to 4 months.

KLE University, M.S. Orthopaedics

Remarks:

All in all, given the current medical scenario it is a good college for Orthopaedics. If you do not get any well known government hospital, I would rather you take this over a state private hospital as they raise a score of problems later on especially with regards to the fees. The academic part is amazing so even though the patient inflow is slightly less it doesn't hurt as much as you are exposed to every kind of case and surgery in the stream which doesn't happen in government hospitals.
