Great Teachers and Ambience

Remarks :

It's one of the best journalism colleges and for a good reason. The infrastructure is amazing, trachers are resourceful and we get a holistic development there.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The university is very diligent in preparing the curriculum. They update their syllabus according to recent happenings. Our curriculum under Bjmc consisted of almost every form of media with practical knowledge. The college offers workshops, Seminars and various events, wherr we get the chance to interact with industry experts. Our college used to take us to printing press, media studios to get us first hand knowledge. Also, at the end of the year, we all were required to do an compulsory intership under media/AD/PR organizations.

Placement Experience :

We have special Placement cell, where our tecahers and alumni update us with job openings. Various media companies came to our college for recruitment like PTI, Zee group, Entrepreneur Magazine. Before placement, the college organised various grooming sessions and workshops. I got my first job via placement cell only.

College Events :

Apart from small workshops and seminars, the college have an annual fest called SPANDAN. It is organised by the final year students and is part of their curriculum. The students were responsible for everything, right from planning, organising, decor to getting the sponsors and artists. The footfall is quite high and the budget goes upto 5-6 lakhs.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The college follows the fee structure of the IP University. The fees is quite feasible in comparison to the services provided. Theu don't have any extra charges or anything and is completely transparent in fee- breakdown. The mode of payments include Cheque and Demand Draft.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

No the college didn't have any scholarship opportunity. Since the fees was not that much and it was annual. So my parents paid the fees.

Campus Life :

Campus life is amazing. It has very lively and friendly environment. There are equal ratios of both the genders. The college or students never discriminated anyone on the basis of caste, color, gender, race, religion, sexual preference or Economic status. Everyone was treated with respect and were provided equal opportunity.

Alumni/Alumna :

Yes, the college alumni are quite helpful in grooming sessions and providing job opportunities. One of our alumni in TOI conducted a career counseling session for us.

Admission :

I got admission into my college thourough Entrance Exam. It's the best college for Journalism under GGSIPU with best teachers. My college requires very high ranking in the entrance exam for admission. Step by step: 1. Clear Entrance Exam with good ranking preferably under 400. 2. One have to pay fixed amount by GGSIPU for sitting in counseling. 3. There are thouree rounds of counseling. If you get good rank, you'll get your preferred college in first counseling itself. 4. After you get your desired college, University will ask you to reach a certain place and verify your documents. So keep your documents handy. 5. After the documents are verified, they are submitted to your respective colleges and college will ask you to submit the fees via DD. (The counseling fees gets reimbursed here, you just have to pay the rest) 6. Visit the college to submit the DD and fill up some forms and your admission is done.

Faculty :

In my course we had more than 20 faculty members who were highly qualified and had a great amount of experience in their field. Most of our faculty members were alumni of one of the best journalism colleges in India. The lecturers had years of experience working in teaching and/or in the media.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The overall curriculum of the course is very student friendly and it's shaped around the development of the students. The curriculum has the subjects focusing on the real-world scenarios. For eg we study about new media, print, radio etc. There's always a scope of improvement but the course curriculum couldn't get more better. The exams are not that difficult and ample of time is given for preparation but the schedule does scare the students sometimes.
