Good learning inside & outside the classroom

Remarks :

Good infrastructure and campus, professors are average, the student community is active but the college lacks an intellectual environment

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course of mechanical is very vast, there are electives like robotics, biomechanics, artificial intelligence, supply chain management, and many modern subjects. The course also coves the depth of basic mech courses from fluids, thermal, design, industrial, manufacturing. They typically conduct 2 sessional of 15 marks, 10 marks internal & 60 marks endsem

Placement Experience :

Placement is good overall. The average package is 7LPA and there are good companies in core, non-core & software. The salaries in core companies are usually low, which is the case in most colleges. It is very little to no opportunities for internships for mechanical engineering students, we have to search for them ourselves.

College Events :

There are many events in the college, there is something or else every weekend and students get a lot of exposure of organizing events. AXIS is the technical fest, Aarohi is the cultural fest which is the two main events. Along with this, there is institute gathering, department gathering, and many of the festivals like Ganesh Utsav, gudi padwa, onam, Ugadi are also celebrated and organized by students

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee has increased a lot since we were there. But the good thing is that the fees for all 4 years is declared at the moment you take admission and they can not increase it once you have taken admission. It is still feasible however it is way too much for NRI (DASA) quota students

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I didn't apply for it. There are options for sc/st/obc but no options for the general category. An education loan can also be availed through SBI

Campus Life :

Campus Life is very active. The gender ratio is okay, for an engineering college.there are a lot of groups and a tech-family culture with senior-junior bonding. The administration is a bit too protective of girls and has old-fashioned thinking. I haven't seen discrimination on basis of gender, ethnicity, religion etc.

Alumni/Alumna :

The alumni are very helpful but the connection with the college is very poor. The Alumni Association has been made recently and they're not as active as they can be.

Admission :

Got 9885 ranks in JEE Mains. I liked mechanics in 12th so I chose mechanical engineering as my stream. Through the state-level entrance, I got COEP, chose VNIT because of its national identity & NIT tag. For the admission process, we have to fill the preferences of courses in colleges. Then allocation happens according to your rank and the final course is allotted after 7 rounds

Faculty :

Some of the faculty are very good but some are not so good. The old professors are generally better than the new ones. Faculty lack industrial experience and many professors teach outdated things. They lack m knowledge of the latest technology & processes.

From the third-year sixth semester our college taking campus placement or internship programs. In the past, our college has got an average of 4 LPA packages and the highest 12 or 14 LPA packages. There are so many companies like TCS, COGNIGENT, WIPRO, etc. Our College gives 95-98% placement in engineering. My plan is to do a job in a data scientist post in the company and give my best to that company that's all.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements in their last year. There are many good companies that come and take part in the placement drives. Companies like TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Capgemini etc. come here for placements. The highest package in my understanding was about 30 lakhs as studied and searched by me. Many students secure packages above 3.5 lakhs in our college. About 90% of students get placed through the drives. My plan is also to take a good job from placement and then do my masters.

Admission:

I got admission through CAP Round as directed by AICTE and DTE, the process is of 3 rounds until you choose a college and finalize it. Admission dates for FE students start from around May-June period as college opens at around 15 July approx. And Students need to bring all documents attested and submit the original 10th- 12th documents in the college and after completing the graduation. He/She can collect the originals from the college after collecting LC from the college.
