Innovation and creativity at it's best

Remarks :

There are both positive and negative points. College is really very good if you're looking for career in Fashion industry then NIFT is best college under Ministry of Textiles. Negative point is only fees in my view.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course curriculum is changed last year only, and many new subjects are added and upgraded to enhance students capabilities and develop all round development and be updated about new technologies and trends in Fashion industry.

Placement Experience :

Placement and job opportunities are not very good as compared to IIT's because of degradation of Apparel manufacturing and apparel design. In starting you'll not be earning a very handsome amount of salary but will definitely grow over a period of time.Yes , College do help in internships and placement opportunities.

College Events :

Many events are celebrated in college, some small events and some at a very larger scale. Main is Spectrum , our annual three day fest with Fashion Show as the main event and attraction of the evening. Many events run alongside like street play, hogathon and many other. Apart from spectrum, events like dussehra mela, prom night, teachers day celebration, etc are also organised.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee structure as of a government institute is very expensive and that too it increases 10% every there, therfore making Nift out of reach for various sections of the society. We are paying aroud 1 lakh per semester.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

There is NIFT scholarship which provides you with financial aid i.e some rebate in fees. All other details are available on college website www.nift.ac.in. So that students with financially backward can avail this facility.

Campus Life :

Yes, there are extracurricular activities though there are no ground due to space constraints. But still students take part in extra curricular activities. There's also a annual meet of all Nift campuses converge, where different events take place.

Hostel Facilities :

Many of the campuses don't have boys hostel. So being a boy I cannot rate this. But as heard girls hostels overall are good with facilities like gym, mess, 24*7 security, water facilities, etc. But preference is always given to freshers.

Alumni/Alumna :

Alumni network is not so strong. College need to work on it. Though you can find them on LinkedIn. There's no database atleast as a student where I can find alumni database. Improvement needed in this area.

Admission :

Firstly the admission notification is published in newspapers and on website of college. There you can fill online form , upload required documents, fill payment , decide test center and you're done. Then on decided date admit card is issued with date , time and venue of examination. Then is your examination day, where you've to give a written exam of particular syllabus. After the examination comes your result with you rank. For designing there is one more exam after clearing written exam i.e studio test. After your rank is out. You have to attend counseling where you'll be allotted campus and course according to your rank. And that's the final step and your admission procedure is over.

Faculty :

Faculties of college are very experienced and having knowledge of various fields. They explain your evey doubt and also support you in making right career choices. Almost all teachers are PHd scholars.

Placement Experience:

The placements are great. The department responsible for placements is OCS and they are the best at their job they find top class recruiters and that too from big companies in your field. They also teach you how to prepare for them from the first year itself.

Placement Experience:

As I know, in the third year, they will offer you an intership for 1-3 months and at the end of your course, they will provide you a job under well-known companies. My plans after completing my course i will like to work for 1-2 years under the company which will be provided by the college, after getting some experience i will start my own business.

Remarks:

I knew a lot about fashion technology since my standard 10, when my brother in law introduced me to it, who himself is from the same course. Hence it remained as my first choice in choosing my carrier at standard 12.

Admission:

The admission was through an entrance test conducted by the college itself. However, the college also takes in students through their NIFT scores.

Pearl conducts its personal entrance exam and a interview trough which I went. The marks were not revealed, I just got a mail which congratulated me and welcomed me to the course.

Placement Experience:

Pearl excels in placing their students. The previous year percentage of placement of the luxury batch was 99% in all the leading luxury and fashion brands in India like Louis Vuitton, Dior, Versace, Armani, Cartier, Sabyasachi and many more. The students are personally asked for their preference of the industry in which they want to work, be it the fashion industry, the food or beverage industry or the luxury service industry.
