Remarks

Very much supportive and concern about students. There is a benevolent fund to support the students in need (ex. if somebody's father expires during the course, then 50% to 100% fees may be paid from this fund.).

Course Curriculum Overview

Up to date course curriculum and gets updated regularly. The exam system is very strict and there is opportunity to work in live projects since the majority of the faculty members have funded projects.

Placement Experience

Placement cell is very much vibrant and the majority of the students get placed.

College Events

Every department has its own fest (Ex. ECHELON for ECE), College fest KAALRAV, Technical fest TECH ADRISHTA and several other events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

course fee now is 1.65 Lacs for M.Tech and Hostel 1.3 Lacs (approx.). From this year, 2 students in M.Tech will get 50% scholarship (will be decided by scholarship test to be organized by the department).

Campus Life

Campus life is very good and happening. There is a world-class sports complex including gym, swimming pool, squash, badminton, basketball etc. Many people are working on robotics and IoT based systems in the ECE department.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel 1.3 Lacs (approx.) including food. Twin sharing attached bath. Very secure campus especially for girls students.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Admission

Got the prospectus by post. Filled up the application form. Called for a personal interview and got selected. The interview is not very tough. The main judge the students' orientation, whether towards industry or research.

Great academic experience

Placement Experience:

The placement is our University was around 90%. Although cs and ece are beneficial for internships since many firms visit our institution for cs and ece, there is an issue with core branch internships: out of 30 students, only around 5-6 acquire an internship. If you want a work placement in core branch, you need master certain coding subjects and apply.

NIT Sikkim Review

Placement Experience:

The placement record of the college is good and most of the offers in our college is made to CSE students. during our batch, the college was able to achieve a 100% placement record. The college placement cell supports us very well and guides us during our placement process. Companies like Oracle, Infosys, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Google, Microsoft, Wipro visit the campus during the placement drive. The highest package for our batch went up to 16 LPA and the average package was 10 LPA. I also received a package of 12 LPA.

Placement Experience:

Campus recruitment drive here in college is good. Good companies come here for the placement. They provide good packages for the students. The average pay starts from 2.5 lakhs per annum. Companies like simplex come here for the placement.

Best college in terms of all things

Remarks:

There aren't any bad remarks as such as the good things about Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology outnumber by far all the little petty things. However I wish that the Central Library facilities as it is today was also present during our time and also the if there had been the Atal Incubation Centre in our days in Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology as it is today, I would surely have become an entrepreneur.

Place to live your dream

Remarks:

College is good, situated in a beautiful place i.e., near to Teesta river gives the positive vibes. Career-wise, college helps me to achieve the new milestones that I could never achieve without smit facilities and support of faculties. A big thanks to smit for making me, who I am today. I am research scientist at ISRO.

Joined wisely

I was selected in for Downtown university but for my personal ease i choose to study in SMIT. No i was not being rejecte form any colleges. Due to some of my personal problems i decided to joing SMIT as wishing to study at the college situated over my own state.
