Which is a better option: MNC at IIT Guwahati or CSE at IIT Indore?

If you go through the syllabus of MnC at IIT Guwahati you will observe that there are so many courses in theoretical, abstract, and pure Mathematics and very few courses in Computer Science. 

Now, Maths at IITs is very high level and not what you studied in JEE. For those who think of taking MnC just for its CS courses, let me warn you it will be the worst decision ever. It’s better to go for CS in newer IITs like Hyderabad and Indore than to take MnC at IIT Guwahati.

However, MnC is a great choice if you have a genuine interest in pure mathematics. It’s better to talk to someone who has taken this course before and enquire about the Math curriculum. From what I know, Math at IITs comprises lengthy proofs of Mathematical Induction, sets and relation theory, etc. It’s an excellent choice if you want to pursue research in the same. However, I will still repeat, MnC is not a substitute for CS.
