The IIT Ropar Physics Department was established in 2009 with an aim to deliver high-level teaching methodologies and top-notch research work in advanced areas of experimental & theoretical physics.

The Department offers undergraduate programs, MSc. and Ph.D. in Physics. Nuclear and Particle Physics, Condensed Matter Physics & Material Science, Gravity & Strings, Light-Matter Interactions and Quantum Information are the important fields on which the department conducts research works. Some important department faculty members and their designations are as given below:
