Students are eligible to participate for Internship placements from 3rd year and FTE offer from 4th year starting. Overall the placements scenarios are pretty good considering it to be a NIT. The faculty students relations are good, there are some good as well as bad faculties. Most of them are helpful, the overall curriculum is easy you can study one week before the exam and still get a 8+ SGPA. There are multiple exams during a semester which included End sem, Mid sem and 2 Minors and Assessment or projects depending upon the faculty intuition. Overall the academic experience is good

The campus life is great with many campus festivals and events like Tecnoesis and Incandescence where Tecnoesis is the largest Technical fest of NORTH east India and Incandescence veing the cultural fest provinding great cultural stree busters and a integrative environment for all the students and helping them enjoy out their college life.
How are the hostels at NIT Silchar?
The Hostel facility of the college is good with proper cleaned bathrooms and toilets and cleanliness is well maintained everywhere by tge workers everyday, there are proper space for the rooms to stay and overall its a great stay considering the govt hostel, but sometimes there are issue of Electricity and LAN Facilities which gets disrupts in Hostels
