NIT Hamirpur to Provide Inputs on Teaching, Training Methodology to GHEC Bilaspur; Details Here

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur has officially decided to allow the faculty and students of the Government Hydro Engineering College, Bilaspur, to visit its campus that will also accommodate BTech students in the training programmes.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed as an agreement between Lalit Awasthi, director, NIT-Hamirpur, and RK Awasthi, principal of Hydro Engineering College, at NIT. When asked about the MOU, Awasthi said that NIT Hamirpur would provide facilities to improve technical and academic research to Government Hydro Engineering College in Bilaspur.

He said that NIT Hamirpur will provide valuable inputs to the engineering college on teaching and training methodology and customization of the curriculum so that the students could understand the industrial activities and fit into the industrial set-up successfully. 

Further, he mentioned that the NIT would allow the faculty and students of the Government Hydro Engineering College, Bilaspur to visit its campus and would accommodate BTech students in training programmes. As a part of the agreement, joint research activities, guidance for the projects and thesis would also be carried out.

Awasthi added that the NIT Hamirpur would additionally provide infrastructural support for the student's placement. Earlier this year, a yoga center at the Student Activity Centre was inaugurated by himx where he advised everyone to practice yoga on a daily basis to stay fit and healthy. It was Awasthi who issued the 19th edition of the annual magazine SRIJAN-2021. 

About NIT Hamirpur 

NIT Hamirpur, located in Hamirpur, HP was established jointly by the Government of India and the Government of Himachal Pradesh. The institute was earlier set up as Regional Engineering College (REC) in 1986, with only two departments, Civil Engineering and Electrical Engineering. Now the institute has 13 departments and it offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses across various disciplines including engineering, humanities & social sciences and management, architecture, and sciences.
