JIIT Noida admission through JEE Main, Class 12 merit and CUET. Check BTech cutoffs, course eligibility, counselling and tentative 2027 dates.

JIIT Noida BTech admission uses JEE Main All India Rank or Class 12 merit. For the 2026–27 intake, applicants needed 60% aggregate marks in Class 12, or 55% for SC/ST students. JIIT conducts its own counselling for the Sector 62 and Sector 128 campuses. BBA, BCA and BCom also accept CUET-UG scores, while MBA selection includes an entrance score, group discussion and interview. Admissions for 2026–27 have closed; the 2027 dates have not been announced.

Admission update: Based on the 2026 cycle, JIIT may open most application forms around January 2027. BTech counselling may begin around May for JEE Main applicants and June for Class 12-merit applicants. These are tentative periods.

JIIT BTech Admission: Eligibility and Selection

For the 2026 intake, students had to pass Class 12 in 2024 or 2025, or appear in 2026. Physics and Mathematics were compulsory, along with one accepted third subject. These included Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, Biology and other subjects allowed under the BTech eligibility rules. Students needed a pass in every subject.

JIIT prepares separate merit lists for the two admission options. JEE Main admission uses the All India Rank, not the category rank. Class 12 admission uses marks in Physics, Mathematics and one accepted third subject. A student’s overall eligibility percentage and the three-subject score used for merit serve different purposes.

CSE is available at both Noida campuses. Other branches include IT, ECE, Mathematics and Computing, AI and ML, Cyber Security, Robotics and AI, Biotechnology, and VLSI. Branch availability differs by campus. Biotechnology and some electronics programmes also have separate admission provisions, so applicants must select the correct programme in the form.

How JIIT BTech Counselling Works

Students upload their Class 12 marksheet and, for JEE Main admission, the scorecard showing the Common Rank List and QR code. Class 12-merit applicants must upload their results at least one week before counselling. Incomplete results or documents can prevent an application from being considered.

  1. Fill the campus and branch choices in order of preference. JIIT allows changes before the scheduled counselling date.
  2. Pay the initial ₹60,000 required for counselling. JIIT adjusts it against the first-semester academic fee when admission is offered.
  3. Check the allotment in the counselling portal and the provisional offer sent by email.
  4. Pay the balance by the offer deadline. Branch upgrades depend on merit, available seats and the order of choices.

The first JEE Main counselling round is common to the four Jaypee universities. Students seeking a Noida seat must choose JIIT and the correct campus. Later rounds are handled by the respective universities. JIIT does not offer management-quota admission.

JIIT BTech Cutoff 2026: Campus and Branch Differences

The 2026–27 merit data was updated on 24 September 2026. It gives JEE Main rank ranges and Class 12 merit percentages by branch and campus, without a separate category or counselling-round breakdown.

Selected BTech merit ranges for 2026–27
Campus and branch JEE Main AIR range Class 12 merit range
Sector 62: CSE 12,948–92,154 94.33%–99.83%
Sector 128: CSE 49,858–1,95,352 87.33%–96.33%
Sector 62: IT 56,504–1,04,461 93.33%–97.00%
Sector 62: Mathematics and Computing 38,316–1,44,561 89.33%–99.00%
Sector 128: AI and ML 33,906–2,15,286 87.00%–98.00%
Sector 62: ECE 27,897–2,69,188 86.00%–95.67%

In 2026, Sector 62 CSE required a stronger JEE rank and a higher Class 12 merit score than Sector 128 CSE. Students considering both campuses should compare them separately when filling choices. These ranges give context for 2027; they do not set the next intake’s cutoff.

JIIT BBA, BCA, BCom and BSc Admission

The 2026 eligibility requirement for these campus courses was 60% aggregate in Class 12, reduced to 55% for SC/ST students. Applicants also needed to pass every subject. Selection used Class 12 marks or the relevant CUET-UG subjects.

Subject requirements and selection for the 2026 intake
Course Subjects that matter for admission
BBA and BCom Class 12 merit: English and two accepted subjects. CUET-UG: English, General Test and one accepted subject.
BCA Mathematics or a Computer Science subject in Class 12. Merit uses English and Mathematics/Computer Science; CUET-UG uses those subjects with the General Test.
BSc Computer Science Science stream with Physics and Mathematics. CUET-UG subjects: Physics, Mathematics and English.
BSc Forensic Science Science stream with Physics and Chemistry. CUET-UG requires those subjects and one accepted third subject.

BBA, BCA and BCom students can complete a three-year degree or continue to the four-year honours/research option under the course rules. The fourth year changes both the qualification and the total fee.

JIIT MBA Admission

The campus MBA and MBA in AI and Data Science require a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks, or 45% for SC/ST, under the 2026–27 rules. Accepted tests include CAT, MAT, CMAT, XAT, GMAT, ATMA and CUET-PG. Shortlisted applicants attend a group discussion and personal interview. The final decision considers the test score, language proficiency and GD/PI performance.

MBA in Hospital and Healthcare Management also accepts graduates from any discipline, with preference for applicants from medical, pharmacy, nursing, biotechnology and related fields. Relevant healthcare experience can help, and health experts assess the applicants. Final-year graduates could apply in 2026, subject to completing the degree requirements.

JIIT MTech, MCA, MSc and MDes Admission

MTech requires an accepted degree for the chosen specialisation with 60% marks, or 55% for SC/ST. GATE-qualified applicants can receive direct admission. JIIT also considers relevant CUET-PG scores and qualifying-degree merit, subject to seats. CSE, VLSI, Biotechnology, AI and Data Science, Robotics and AI, and Quantum Technology have different degree requirements.

MCA requires 60% in graduation, or 55% for SC/ST students. It accepts BCA, Computer Science/IT degrees and eligible BSc, BCom, BA, BS or BVoc graduates with Mathematics at Class 12 or degree level. Selection uses qualifying-degree merit and available seats, or CUET-PG scores. MSc eligibility depends on the subject. For example, MSc Microbiology needs an eligible life-science or related degree, while MSc Economics and Psychology accept a bachelor’s degree in any subject.

MSc, MCom and MDes require 55% in the qualifying degree, or 50% for SC/ST. For 2026, candidates above 60% could be considered through degree merit and seat availability; the department entrance test applied to the 55%–60% group. Relevant CUET-PG scores were another option. MDes also accepted valid GATE, CEED or NID scores.

JIIT PhD Admission

For the 2026–27 odd-semester intake, PhD applicants needed an eligible master’s degree or MPhil with 55% marks, or a four-year bachelor’s degree with 75%. SC/ST applicants received a five-percentage-point relaxation. Selection included the institute entrance test and an interview on the proposed research topic. Applicants with accepted SLET, UGC-NET, CSIR-JRF or equivalent national qualifications could be considered directly for interview.

The application deadline was 30 June 2026, followed by the test on 21 July and interview on 22 July. These dates belong to the completed odd-semester process.

How to Apply to JIIT

Applications are submitted through the portal linked from JIIT admissions. Applicants choose the programme and admission basis, enter their academic details, upload the required results and pay the application fee. In 2026–27, the fee was ₹1,200 for BTech, ₹500 for BBA, BCA, BCom and other UG courses, and ₹1,000 for MBA and the main PG programmes.

Online BBA, BCA, MBA and MCA use the separate JIIT Online admission system. Online BBA and BCA require at least 40% in Class 12; online MBA requires a minimum three-year bachelor’s degree with 40%. These conditions differ from the campus programmes. For academic and hostel payments, see JIIT Noida fees.
