What Is the INI CET Exam Pattern?
The INI CET is a computer-based test of 180 minutes. The paper contains 200 multiple choice questions covering clinical scenarios, single-correct choice items, multiple-correct choice items, and matching questions.
INI CET Marking Scheme
Candidates receive one mark for every correct answer. One-third of a mark is deducted for each incorrect answer. Unattempted questions carry no penalty. The qualifying cut-off is the 50th percentile for General, EWS, and OBC candidates. SC, ST, and PwBD candidates must clear the 45th percentile.
What Documents Are Required at the Exam Centre?
Candidates must carry the printed admit card to the test centre. One original government-issued photo identity document is also mandatory. Accepted IDs include Aadhaar card, Passport, PAN card, Voter ID, and Driving Licence.
Entry gates close before the exam begins, so candidates should reach the centre well in advance for biometric and photo verification. Metal accessories, digital watches, and stationery items are not permitted inside the hall. Test centres will provide pens and rough sheets for use during the examination.
INI CET is the only route for postgraduate medical admissions to AIIMS, PGIMER, JIPMER, NIMHANS, and SCTIMST. The exam is held twice each year and attracts thousands of MBBS and BDS interns competing for a limited seat pool.
