Eligibility Criteria for IIT Tirupati PhD and MS Research 2027

The eligibility rules vary by programme and category. Candidates must meet the required degree, academic score, and GATE criteria before applying.

• Applicants need a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology with a valid GATE score.
• Candidates with a four-year BS degree and a valid GATE score are also eligible.
• Applicants with a Master's degree such as MSc or MCA with a valid GATE score may apply.
• Those with a four-year online Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with GATE can apply.
• Candidates with a Bachelor's degree from an IIT may apply without GATE if they meet the minimum CGPA requirement.

The minimum CGPA for IIT graduates is 8.0 for General category candidates. The cut-off is 7.5 for EWS and OBC-NCL candidates and 7.0 for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.
