BITSAT 2027 Registration to Begin in December 2026 at BITS Pilani

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani will soon open BITSAT 2027 registrations. The application window is expected to go live in December 2026. Interested candidates can apply online at the official portal, admissions.bits-pilani.ac.in.

The BITS Admission Test (BITSAT) 2027 will be held in two sessions. Session 1 is expected in April 2027, and Session 2 in May 2027. The test will take place in computer-based (CBT) mode across India and in Dubai.

BITSAT scores decide admission to BE and BPharm programmes at BITS Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campuses. The official notification brochure with final dates is yet to be released.

BITSAT 2027 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet academic requirements set by BITS Pilani. Students appearing for Class 12 in 2027 are also eligible to apply.

Must have passed Class 12 from a recognised central or state board.
At least 75 percent aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology.
Minimum 60 percent marks in each of the three subjects.
English must be studied as a compulsory language in Class 12.
First rank holders of Class 12 state boards get direct admission.

BITSAT Exam Pattern

The computer-based test runs for three hours in total. It carries 130 multiple-choice questions spread across four main parts.

Each correct answer carries 3 marks under the marking scheme. One mark is deducted for every wrong response. There is no penalty for unattempted questions.

BITSAT 2026 Important Dates

In the 2026 cycle, Session 1 registrations closed on March 16, 2026. The Session 1 exam ran from April 15 to 17, 2026. Session 2 was conducted from May 24 to 26, 2026.

The application process will be fully online. Candidates should follow these steps once the official portal opens.

Fill in personal, academic, and contact details carefully.
Upload the scanned photograph and signature in the required format.
Select preferred exam centres and the test session.

Why This Matters

BITSAT is one of the few private engineering tests with a bonus feature. Candidates who answer all 130 questions early can attempt 12 extra questions. These bonus items can push total scores higher and shift the final merit rank.
