Dr. Banashri Lata Sadhanidar is Principal cum Professor at PEWS Group Of Institutions. She has earned her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from the Regional College of Nursing Guwahati under Guwahati University. Thereafter, she earned her PhD degree from Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences.

Dr. Sadhanidar has over 39 years of work experience. She has worked in the government sector at the Regional College of Nursing and B.Sc. Nursing College Dibrugarh in different capacities.She joined CPMS College and School of Nursing as a Principal in 2019. She has published her research papers and articles in several national and international journals of repute.

Being the Principal what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

My leadership philosophy is to lead by example. I take all the stakeholders at my college as a team, put them at the forefront and include them in every decision. I treat them as valuable resources that can help us achieve our college goals while they themselves achieve their own personal goals.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

Nursing is a noble profession and one of the oldest professions. In today’s world, nurses are the backbone of the healthcare sector. Nursing gives ample opportunity to serve human kind, particularly needy and sick people. There is no shortage of jobs or unemployment in Nursing. You can work as an independent nurse practitioner, academician or even look for jobs internationally. All it takes is identifying the opportunities and being ready to grab them when they arise.

What are some plans that you’re currently (or will be) designing for PEWS Group of Institutions international affairs and/or students?

Currently, we have plans to organise international level programs and to invite nursing experts and stakeholders of healthcare organisations. We want to send representatives to international nursing conferences and workshops organised by different countries. We want to send our students to different recruitment agencies for international placements. We also have plans to help students prepare for international examinations like TOEFL, CRNE and OET.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the Institute and the students are?

My roles and responsibilities are multi-faceted. I need to plan, supervise and execute annual academic plans. It is also my duty to look over curricular and extracurricular activities for the overall development of college. I need to sign off on and oversee day-to-day operations and set learning goals for students and teachers. I regularly monitor and report on my teacher’s performance. Moreover, I research new resources and techniques to improve teaching, and I plan and organise new education programs.

What do you see as PEWS Group Of Institutions greatest strengths?

PEWS Group Of Institutions has several factors that are its strengths. It poses its own building and is located in an ideal location in the city. We have a number of qualified and experienced faculty in our college. The college has put in efforts to include smart classrooms, a well-equipped laboratories and a well-stocked library. We have hostels for out-of-station students with all homely facilities including CCTV surveillance. To give our students practical experience, we have tied up with different big and excellent hospitals. We also have an excellent placements track record. Our graduates work at Government and private hospitals, educational institutes, and railways etc.all over the country and abroad.
