Arbind Kumar has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department at Satyam International Institute of Technology, Patna, Bihar. He has done B.Tech from Nalanda College of Engineering in 2017 and has in-depth hands-on knowledge of Programming Languages like C, C++ , Core Java and Python, Web Technologies such as HTML, CSS, PHP and JavaScript followed by RDBMS and MySQL Development Tools such as Notepad++, NetBeans Codebooks and Eclipse and Office Automation Package such as Windows XP, MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint). Throughout his career, he has worked with CRK Polytechnic of Hajipur as a Lecturer for 3 years and then later on joined SIIT, first as a Admission Counselor and next as a full-time Professor. Apart from this, he has developed Library Management System and Coaching Management System.
Which current trends and advancements of the Computer Science field you find particularly exciting?
Being a Computer Science Professor, I always remain fascinated about the advancements happening in our field. And one trend that I find particularly exciting is the development of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Because these technologies have the potential to revolutionize various industries, from healthcare to finance. Additionally, I am intrigued by the growing field of Cybersecurity and challenges it presents in an increasingly interconnected world. Last but not the least, the rise of Quantum Computing and its potential to solve complex problems at an unprecedented speed is another area that I find extremely promising.
How do you incorporate industry practices and developments into your teaching curriculum?
For the purpose of preparing our students for the ever-evolving field of Computer Science, we have incorporated some amazing industry practices into the curriculum of our courses. First and foremost, as a Professor, I regularly maintain a balance between theory and practical skills. Apart from this, experts of leading industries are invited from time to time as Guest Speakers to share their experiences and insights with students. Additionally, I encourage students to work on real-world projects so that they can apply their classroom knowledge and problem-solving skills in a practical context.

What kind of approach have you adopted to teach and train students?
As our students come from diverse backgrounds and have different levels of knowledge in Computer Science, hence we have adopted a student-centered approach to teach them and ensure their overall growth and development. For instance, we use strategies such as differentiated instruction, hands-on projects and collaborative learning. In addition to this, by making best use of online learning resources, I provide additional support to those who need it. Because, at the end of the day, my goal is to ensure that all students have a solid understanding of the fundamental concepts and they are able to apply them effectively.
What are some emerging trends or technologies in the field of Computer Science that students should be aware of?
In today's digital, dynamic and highly competitive world, students must be aware about the latest trends and technologies of the CS field such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Cybersecurity. Because these fields offer exciting opportunities for research and career growth, staying updated about them will surely give an added advantage to students in outside job market.
As an Assistant Professor, how do you enforce a practical approach towards CS subjects?
For the purpose of bridging the gaps between theory and their real-world applications, hands-on experience is very crucial for Computer Science students. Therefore, I regularly provide students with opportunities to work on projects, participate in coding competitions, and collaborate on industry-sponsored research projects. Apart from this, I encourage them to intern or participate in co-op programs to gain required practical exposure and apply their knowledge in real-world settings.
