Roorkee: Genesis Quantum University Innovation Council, an Incubator of Quantum University, Roorkee has recently organized its 2nd edition of Start-Up Award Ceremony 2024 as a part of its commitment to promoting entrepreneurship. The ceremony was designed to recognize and celebrate the exceptional achievements of various startups that have excelled in their respective domains. The Award Ceremony, was hosted by Genesis with an initiative to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed to thrive in the dynamic world of entrepreneurship.The event was a grand celebration of entrepreneurial spirit and innovation that brought together a diverse audience consisting of distinguished guests, industry professionals, investors, and some of the brightest minds in the startup world.

The event also welcomed Mr. Vasishta Chary, a highly successful entrepreneur, a seasoned Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy consultant, and founder of Thybookbox, who awarded the top 6 startups of the day. Of the 6, 3 startups are led by women, namely Ms Sania for Eidetic, Taruna Mondal for Munchy Cereal Puffs, and Dimple Kumari for Sanitary Pads. Other startup winners were Akshay Choudhary's Smart Home Security, Mukund Dev's Roof Garden, and Ritik Raj's Speed Pe, who all presented their innovative ideas to a distinguished panel after going through a rigorous selection process. Each of the winning start-ups received a grant cheque of Rs. 50,000/- from the university's startup fund.

The initiative provided the business aspirants with a chance to gain recognition and allowed them to demonstrate their talents and ideas to industry experts. Mr. Amit Dixit, Registrar of Quantum University, firmly believes in complete student development across all domains. He said, "I believe this initiative will significantly enhance students' learning experiences, equipping them with the skills to create their own businesses and drive economic growth."

Additionally, the event introduced the upcoming initiative, the “Young Innovators Challenge 2024”- an event for the school students from age 13- 18 years old that will provide them with a platform to showcase their business ideas in front of the jury. The university also organized a cultural fest, Dharohar-24, featuring the Prototype Expo and Prototype Demo Day under Srijan-2024. This event saw participation from over 30 start-ups from various universities, showcasing their innovative prototypes.

Quantum University's Pankaj Batra Shines at IndiaSkills 2024: Wins Silver Medal in Mobile App Development

Roorkee: One accomplishment after another, Quantum University students continue to inspire all with their achievements. Pankaj Batra of BTech CSE won a Silver Medal at the country's largest talent competition IndiaSkills 2024 conducted by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) in New Delhi from May 15th to 19th. The event drew over 2.5 lakh participants, where 900 students and 400 industry experts were shortlisted from more than 30 states and union territories, where Quantum’s student Pankaj secured second place in the Mobile App Development category. 

The 4-day-long IndiaSkills event allowed participants to showcase their diverse skills and talent on a national platform across 61 skills – from traditional crafts to cutting-edge technologies. The students also participated in 9 exhibition skills such as drone filmmaking, textile weaving, leather shoemaking, and prosthetics-makeup. Despite the neck-to-neck competition, Pankaj gave his all showing great skill and dedication. He stood out with his creative ideas and hard work, impressing everyone around him. His focus and determination were truly inspiring to everyone watching. 

With the help of the best industry trainers, the winners will be prepared for the WorldSkills Competition scheduled to take place in Lyon, France in September 2024. On hearing their student’s achievement, Mr. Ajay Goyal, Chairman of Quantum University, expressed his thoughts saying, 'We are immensely proud of Pankaj's achievement at the IndiaSkills 2024 Competition. His dedication and hard work have brought honor to our university. Sports Achievers Take the Spotlight as Quantum University Inaugurates Dharohar 2024

Roorkee, April 4, 2024: Dharohar 2024 immersed the campus of Quantum University in colors as the annual fest began with full excitement. A 3-day cultural festival from April 4th to April 6th will feature various events ranging from sports to music, dance to art, literary events to cultural programs. Over 3000 students from a wide range of schools and universities will take part, including the Greenway Modern School, Montfort School, Doon University, RIT, and many others. On the very first day of Dharohar, the enthusiasm of the students reached its peak with the beginning of the Inter and Intra University sports events under Udaan - Sports Fest which witnessed nearly 2000 students participation. The students engaged in different sports activity competitions from Basketball to Football, and from Kabaddi to Tug of War to prove their sportsmanship and were further crowned champions in their respective tournaments. Apart from sports, cultural, art, and entertainment programs like Fashion Fiesta, Duet Dance Competition, etc were being organized at various places on the campus. 

The Inter-University Sports Meet was a thrilling event, featuring over 7 universities. Quantum University shone brightly, clinching victory in volleyball against Motherhood University with a close score of 4/3. The excitement continued as they also secured a win in cricket, outplaying Doon University by 6 wickets. In basketball, COER University emerged victorious over Gurukul Kangari University, Haridwar, showcasing skill and determination. The Kho Kho girls' team from Quantum University triumphed over SMJN PG College, Haridwar, while Khush Dhir, a BBA 3rd-year student from Quantum, took home the Roadiees trophy. In a nail-biting football match, Quantum University put up a strong fight against RIT. Winners across all sports were celebrated with certificates and medals, presented by Prof. Vivek Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of Quantum University, during the opening ceremony. The event was witnessed by Vice Chairman Mr. Shobhit Goyal, Registrar Mr. Amit Dixit, and directors from Quantum Schools of Business and Technology celebrated victories & set an inspiring tone for future competitions.

The campus was abuzz with various cultural programs such as Fashion Fiesta and Duet Dance Competition, which brought out the creative talents of students. Dharohar festival consists of four genres and over 37 different events. The festival's events include Udaan - Sports Fest, EDGE - an engineering showcase, Ojas - highlighting emerging trends in business and social dialogue and Glitz - the cultural fest. There will be events like Tower Game, Face Painting/ Tattoo Art, Stone Art/ Glass Painting/ Bottle Art, Dare 2 Stair, Flower Showcase, Treasure Hunt, Escape, Solo Dance, Kreeda Carnival, Fusion BYTE - QHACK and Rap Battle Hustle, Various programs like Bridge Design, Fast and Furious, Pirates of Circuit, Rangoli Competition, Paper Origami, Best out of Waste, Crack a Code, etc will be organized on the next two days of the fest.

Quantum University’s Dharohar has become a symbol of cultural celebration. The enthusiasm of the students to win the competition and the cultural programs was visible during the day. From the sports competitions to cultural programs, students from every department and university participated enthusiastically. The highlight of Dharohar 2024 program will be the closing night, which will feature a music performance by the famed Punjabi singer Nikk.

UCOST and Quantum University Collaborates: Bridges Traditional and Indian Knowledge Systems via IPR

Roorkee: Recently a groundbreaking 5-day workshop titled 'Protection of Indian Knowledge through Intellectual Property Rights' was successfully held at Quantum University, under the auspices of the Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST), Dehradun. This educational event brought together experts like Professor Dinesh Chandra Shastri, Vice Chancellor of Uttarakhand Sanskrit University, Haridwar, Shri BK Lakshmi Chand of Brahma Kumaris Institute, Roorkee, Dr. Anil Kumar Gaurishetty, Head of IIT, Roorkee, Swami Brahmadev of Auroville Aurobindo Ashram Rishikesh and many others who explored Indian knowledge systems and intellectual property protection mechanisms with teachers and students.

The workshop kicked off with an insightful lecture from Prof. Dinesh Chandra Shastri, VC of Uttarakhand Sanskrit University, Haridwar, who illuminated the philosophical underpinnings of Indian knowledge systems, the preservation of the Sanskrit language, and the science of Yoga. Prof. Dinesh stated. "Protecting our old knowledge with Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) is very important. It helps keep our traditions safe and lets us share them with the whole world in the right way. We must make sure our ancient wisdom gets the respect it deserves. This way, we keep our history alive and help the future learn from it. It's like taking care of a treasure that can make the world better." The following days featured a series of engaging discussions led by distinguished experts including Shri BK Lakshmi Chand of Brahma Kumari Institute, Roorkee, and Dr. Suyyash Bhardwaj, who emphasized the importance of documentation, digitization, and patenting of traditional knowledge. 

A special session was held on the third day, where Dr. Anil Kumar Gaurishetty from IIT Roorkee and Swami Brahmadev from Auroville Aurobindo Ashram Rishikesh shared their profound insights into Indian knowledge and philosophy. The fourth day saw Professor S.P. Kala discusses the global significance and the need for the preservation of Indian knowledge systems. In his lecture, Mr. Kala said, "The preservation of Indian knowledge systems is not only a cultural act but also a strategic imperative for global innovation and sustainability. From mathematics and medicine to philosophy and environmental science, they offer untapped potential for addressing many of the world's current challenges."

The fifth day of the workshop highlighted the richness and diversity of Indian knowledge, the importance of protecting it through Intellectual Property Rights, its commercialization possibilities, and its global relevance. At the end of the session, a feedback session was conducted by the participants. It emphasized the need to connect the younger generation with India's intellectual heritage where the speakers succeeded in highlighting the importance of the knowledge preserved in our Vedas and its relevance in the modern era.

Reflecting on the workshop's significance, VC of Quantum University and Prof. Vivek Kumar said, "This workshop is an important step towards preserving Indian knowledge and transmitting it to future generations. The workshop will surely create significant contributions to the education, culture, science, and technology fields.

Quantum University Celebrates Innovation as Vetcure Kart, Nurtured by Genesis Incubator, Emerges Victorious in ISAB - Prarambham Agri Startup Competition

Roorkee: 'Vetcurekart', a startup incubated by Quantum University and its incubator Genesis, won the Prarambham - An Agri Startup Competition under Sambhramaa 4.0. Hosted by Imperial School of Agri-Business (ISAB) and its Entrepreneurship and Innovation Club at Greater Noida on December 2nd, the event showcased the incredible talent emerging from the agriculture sector. In a fierce competition featuring over 400 participants from across India, the visionary students of Vetcure Kart from Quantum University captivated the jury with an outstanding pitch, securing the first position and a grant of 15,000 INR.

 ISAB- Agro-Marketing Club, is a hub for discussing, designing, planning, implementing, and monitoring marketing strategies tailored to the needs and wants of consumers, it played a pivotal role in organizing the event. This platform supports creative thought processes, and new ideologies, and relates them to the current agricultural market scenario, fostering a win-win situation for both consumers and producers (farmers).

 A dynamic team, with Abhinav Pallav as the Founder and CEO, led Vetcure Kart's thriving journey. The core team included Himanshu Kumar as COO, Harsh Raj as CFO, and Ravi Bhushan as CMO. Other key contributors, such as Adarsh Pallav, Irfran Akhtar, Sneha Kumari, Adithi Singh, and Jyoti Kumari, played an instrumental role in securing victory in the Prarambham Agri Startup Competition. This achievement extended across three rounds: the Abstract Submission Round, the Exclusive Summary Round, and the Pitching Round. Students demonstrated their expertise by addressing insightful questions on logistics, business models, consultancy services, and their strong team's strengths. This comprehensive understanding of the startup ecosystem played a key role in Vetcure Kart's success.

Roorkee: Quantum University, Roorkee hosted its 3rd Convocation Ceremony for the Class of 2023 on Saturday, 25 November, on the University campus. A total of 801 students were awarded their graduate degrees at the glorious event held at the Shyam Ji Auditorium. On this prestigious occasion, the ceremony saw the prominent presence of the Guest of Honour of the day, Professor K.K. Aggarwal, Former Chairman, of the National Board of Accreditation. He is a highly accomplished education leader, significantly contributed to advancing accreditation standards. His commitment to excellence has influenced accreditation practices and fostered a culture of continuous improvement in academic institutions. During his address, he said, "Today, you're not just receiving a degree, you're gaining a passport to new opportunities. May your career adventures be as remarkable as the effort you put into reaching this milestone.” 

The ceremony commenced with a welcome address and formal academic procession by Vice-Chancellor of Quantum University, Dr. Vivek Kumar. In his address, Dr. Kumar described the development of Quantum University, Roorkee, in recent years. He said, "The Convocation Ceremony is a special and joyful occasion for the entire Quantum family. The Ceremony was extended by the conferment of the Chancellor's Medal to Ms Divyanshi Rana, of BA (Hons) Psychology, awarded for all-around excellence in academic performance and extracurricular activities followed by the awarding of all the Medallists through the Honourable Guest of Honour. As a mark of excellence, top performers were awarded 17 Gold Medals, 7 Silver Medals, and 7 Bronze Medals under various courses. The aura and energy on campus were unmatched as Prof. K.K. Aggarwal inspired the students with his remarks about the university's growth in recent years and how it has created leaders in engineering, management, journalism, and other important fields. Honorable Chancellor Mr. Ajay Goyal inspired the young minds by saying, “As you take your well-deserved bow today, carry this truth with you, your potential is a flame that cannot be extinguished. The National Anthem marked the end of the Convocation Ceremony, and the graduates were excited about their new endeavors. TCS Promotes TCS CodeVita Season XI at Quantum University: Over 500 Students Registered for the Competition

Roorkee: TCS CodeVita Season XI - the world's largest programming competition was recently promoted by Tata Consultancy Services at Quantum University, in support of the university's Departments of Computer Science and Engineering, and Computer Applications. The event featured HR Executives from TCS Ms. Ashi Garg, Mr. Yash Parashar, and Mr. Gaurav Singh, who graced the campus with their expertise. Nearly 500 students have registered online at present for the competition to be held in the future, giving them a unique opportunity to showcase their coding skills.

TCS CodeVita is an Online Coding Contest organized by Tata Consultancy Services annually at a global level to Promote Programming as a Sport. TCS connects people of various origins and ethnicities, regardless of their physical and cultural boundaries. This competition is usually conducted for undergraduate /diploma/postgraduate students from engineering/science backgrounds for the upcoming years. 

During the session, students were granted the invaluable opportunity to engage in a knowledgeable discussion by three distinguished delegates from TCS who visited the campus. The team gave a detailed description of CodeVita Season XI like its registration process, benefits, prize money, etc. They effectively bridged the gap between academia and industry, providing valuable insights. Students were able to ask questions and have a dynamic exchange of ideas. This golden opportunity allowed budding talents to gain insights from TCS HR experts, enhancing their understanding of the difficulties of the placement process and related matters.

Ms. Ashi Garg shared her extensive experience, offering valuable tips and shedding light on the complexities of the professional journey. While sharing her experiences she said, "Success in Coding isn't just about typing code. It's about solving complex problems with innovation. Embrace challenges, keep learning, and let your passion elevate your code to new heights."
