What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Knowledge is the key factor which keeps me connected to the education sector”

Owing to my interest in gathering knowledge, I stay updated with the innovations happening in the education sector and also help my students in staying up to date with these innovations. Being a teacher makes me proud as teachers are also termed as Nation Builders and this is only possible when a teacher is devoted to knowledge and also fuels the interest of his/her students towards learning.

How does the curriculum of your department ensure the best practice in industry?

"We adopt a thorough method of teaching where regular classes are conducted in an interesting manner"

Our department organizes all the activities related to the curriculum of the B.Ed course laid down by the affiliated University. With the help of PPT presentation, lecture method, team teaching we teach them in an interesting way and also we have interactions during the classes. We also take regular assessments with short and objective type questions, after the completion of topics and address their problems with the help of the feedback obtained from these assessments.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the Institute and the students are?

"As a teacher, it is my duty to work for the upliftment towards studies of my students and enhance their interest towards education"

I believe that as a teacher, I should give my ultimate contribution to the students and the institute which leads to the development of both my students and my organization. The major responsibility for a teacher is that he/ she should be aware of all the aspects of the concerned subject and is also constantly working towards learning new innovations in the education sector and passing them on to the students.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see, both for higher education in general and for education your institute specifically?

"The biggest challenge that I see for higher and for my institute is making higher education job oriented"

As per the current scenario, students find it difficult to get jobs after completing their B. Ed. course and this is the major challenge. After completing B.Ed., a student needs to qualify for UPTET or CTET eligibility papers for their jobs and for the benefits of our students our institute held free-of-cost classes for our students. We also give them complete guidance for the preparation of TGT and PGT exams. To face this challenge our institute organizes a placement drive and many schools of our city take willingly participate in this program and our students get selected for teaching jobs.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects and make it industry-oriented?

Our institute, in an effort to turn our students into skilled and knowledgeable teachers, follows all the directions as per NCTE and providing theoretical as well as practical knowledge to the students. We employ methods such as micro-teaching and macro-teaching to explain the various aspects of teaching to our students. For enhancing practical knowledge we take them to Prathmik schools and give guidance for practice teaching. Also to enhance student's theoretical knowledge our institute takes regular assessments with the help of lectures, discussions and team teaching. Hence our college is constantly working towards the development of future teachers of the country.

What valuable advice would you like to give students to have a prosperous career ahead?

"Focus both on theoretical and practical knowledge imparted to them by teachers"

Students should focus on in-depth study of the subjects and take their training sessions very seriously which will eventually lead to them getting good grades and jobs. The other advice that I would like to give to the pupil’s teachers is that after completing their B.Ed they should qualify exams like UPTET and CTET and also focus on TGT and PGT courses for a long and prosperous career in the education sector. If they have interest as a teacher in the higher education field they should go for M.Ed. and qualify NET is compulsory for pupil teachers. My best wishes for them to being a good teachers.
