Dr. Anuradha Pathak is Associate Professor and HOD for BBA(FT) programme. She has completed her Masters in International Business with distinction, and has been awarded Ph.D in Management. Her interest in the area of economics led her to do Masters in Economics also. A motivator and a mentor, she has a rich academic experience of 18 years. She has to her credit 1 edited book, more than 20 research papers in national/ international journals and around 20 research papers in conference proceedings. Keen on learning, she constantly upgrades herself through conferences, workshops and FDPs including a Short Term Programme on Big Data & Machine Learning, Certificate Course on Business Analytics and Online Refresher Course in Management. Her subject area includes Export Procedure & Documentation, Foreign Trade Policy, International Logistics and Business Research Methods. She is the current IQAC Coordinator as well.

What is the latest program that you are offering in your institute/ dept. which will help students outperform and stand apart from the crowd?

We offer BBA (Plain), BBA (Foreign Trade) and B.Com at undergraduate level and MBA at postgraduate level. The new education policy provides students with flexibility in choosing their choice of courses. Our BBA (Foreign Trade) program provides students with necessary skills to work in the area of foreign trade. 


What are the factors that make this program the best for the students to opt for?

This program covers topics such as the global business environment, import and export procedures, international finance and trade, and global supply chain to meet the growing demand of skilled foreign trade professionals. Graduates can find jobs in export companies, logistics, international finance, trade and regulatory bodies or establish their own export and import business and benefit from many work opportunities at home and abroad.


What are the best practices in the course you’re offering? 

Students gain experience through industry visits and increased interaction with industry through training, workshops and seminars. The new education policy envisages vocational education and training every year. Students are encouraged to visit import and export companies to gain a deeper understanding of all aspects of foreign trade, including documentation, customs clearance, logistics and supply chain management.

Collaboration with trade associations, companies, and key industry partners is important to provide students with real world experience. We also hold regular meetings with industry experts to ensure our courses remain up to date and meet the needs of the industry.


What were the challenges that you faced while inculcating this program in your curriculum?

Practical knowledge cannot be taught in the classroom. Curriculum development is a difficult task. At the undergraduate level, companies are reluctant to train the students. Therefore, establishing industry connections is essential. 


What are the benefits and career options after pursuing this course?

After completing this course, students gain a deep understanding of international business practices, making them good candidates for many jobs. They can work in import export companies, logistics, international trade, finance, regulatory bodies, or even start an export business. The program equips them with a variety of skills and business knowledge, opening the door to diversity and benefit in the international market.
