What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

Working in the education sector gives me a plethora of opportunities to develop valuable resources for the industry as well as society by ensuring excellence in teaching, learning and research. Along with this, developing future and industry driven curriculum along with innovative pedagogies of teaching gives me immense joy.

And as an educator, I can upgrade my own knowledge about cutting edge technologies and trends during interaction with my fellow faculty as well as students. Then our colleagues are there who provide us tremendous support. So I believe all these factors have together helped me a lot to stay connected with the dynamic and challenging world of education.

Being the Mechanical Engineering Department Head, what is your philosophy of leadership?

I firmly believe that a true leader is one who listens to others and inspires them with their way of working. Hence I always make sure that I connect with my team on a regular basis, listen to their concerns and work challe and motivate them to achieve targets with a time-bound environment.

Additionally, as everyone in a team has different work to finish, I ensure to maximize the work productivity of each individual through my timely guidance and supervision here in my college so that aspirations of our department and institution at large can be fulfilled on time. Therefore I would say, I lead my team from the fore-front with devotion to work and practicing ethics.

In your experience, what benefits can students gain from studying here in your Bonam Venkata Chalamayya?

The primary objective of our institution is to provide quality education and inculcate required professional ethics in students to make them technologically superior and ethically strong to serve the Nation. Then there are multiple curricular and co-curricular activities, which we organize from time to time in accordance with requirements of industry and society. Last but not the least, we have a dedicated team of highly educated and experienced faculty members to teach students. Hence I would say young and ambitious students would be getting the best environment here to learn, grow and innovate.

How does the curriculum of your college ensure the best practices of industry?

Our college regularly takes suggestions and feedback from industry experts and our Alumni who are working with different reputed companies so as to develop a curriculum that is more focused towards industrial trends, developments and requirements. And once we are ready with all the suggestions, we deploy a dedicated team of trained faculty members and corporate people to implement the updated curriculum.

Also, our curriculum usually has skill development training programs and certifications on cutting-edge technologies, which we provide to students from 3-6 semesters, in association with eminent industry experts. Then, after the 4th and 6th semester, there is a mandatory 8-week summer internship for them and we also organize industrial visits on a frequent basis to bridge any kind of gaps between academia and industry. Lastly, to encourage students to solve the real-time industry problems and gain domain expertise, a full semester internship and project is introduced in the 8th semester of the UG Program.

What do you think should be your institution's top priority over the next 5 years?

In my opinion, the top focus area of our institution in the coming 5 years should be Research and Development and we should also create a more suitable ecosystem that can promote the Entrepreneurship opportunities for our students.

Because we all know that India is progressing at a very rapid rate, but the reach of Indian products to global markets is still slow, so research and innovation is very crucial for us. Overall, in the coming time, our institute shall encourage and sponsor more research-oriented projects and patents from our faculty and students.

What are some of the greatest strengths of your institute?

The main pillars of our institution strength is the conducive teaching-learning environment which we have developed for our faculties and students, highly committed and supportive management, fully capable administration along with the amazing team of experienced and dedicated faculty and staff members.

In addition to this, the autonomous status of our college and accreditations we have achieved over the years, students centric activities which we regularly organize in college, partnerships we have maintained with leading industries and international students makes us strong.

What would you like people to know about your college that makes it unique from others?

Our institution offers a finest quality education to students along with a suitable platform to budding Entrepreneurs so that they can thrive in an outside competitive world.

Apart from this, we provide training on cutting-edge technologies and arrange career guidance sessions followed by technical and cultural fests to ensure overall growth and development of our young minds and never leave any opportunity unturned when it comes to making them ethically strong.

Any suggestions which you would like to give to the current youth and aspiring students?

I would advise my dear aspiring students that time is very precious, so invest yours in learning and also develop good communication and critical thinking skills as both are necessary for you to accomplish your goals. Apart from this, be flexible for a change and involve yourself in group activities, because then only you will learn the importance of teamwork.
