HPCET 2024 result: The Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HIMTU) has published the results of the Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test (HPCET) 2024. Candidates can access their scores and ranks online through the official HIMTU website. Login credentials, including username and password, are required to access the results portal. The HPCET 2024 merit list is also expected to be released soon, so stay tuned for updates. 

HPCET 2024 cut off or minimum qualifying marks is going to be available once the result gets published. Final admission is done based on counseling which is performed differently for various courses. Candidates who identify discrepancies within their HPCET 2024 results are encouraged to promptly contact the relevant authorities.

Alike other exams, there is also a tie-breaking policy for two or more students achieving the same score. The tie-breaking for BTech and BPharm courses is done based on total aggregate marks, then marks in Physics and Chemistry, marks of class 10+2, and finally, elder age will be given merit. However, for MCA and MBA, the total aggregate marks, then marks in VARC and QA sections, then Computer Awareness and graduation marks, and lastly elder age students will qualify for the counselling.

How to Check HPCET 2024 Result?

HPCET 2024 result is available online. Candidate can view their result through the official website of HIMTU right after the declaration of results. The result of HPCET 2024 does not directly entitle a candidate to have admission to any course. Candidates have to separately fill out the forms regarding the course candidates wish to get admission in.

Steps to View HPCET 2024 Result

The result for HPCET 2024 can be viewed through the official website of HIMTU. The candidate needs to follow the following steps to view the result:

  • Reach the official website of Himachal Pradesh Technical University, www.himtu.ac.in
  • There you will see notifications flashing about various courses and results.
  • Click on “HPCET 2024 result for B.Tech./B.Pharma/MBA/MCA/M.Tech./M.Pharma”
  • This will redirect the candidate to the results page.
  • Now candidate needs to enter the credentials asked on the results page (as shown in the picture below) and the candidate will be able to view the result for HPCET 2024.

However, if the candidate is unable to find the notification about HPCET 2024 result, there is an alternate method available through which a candidate can view the results. Here are the steps:

  • Reach the official website of HIMTU. (www.himtu.ac.in).
  • Scroll down, click on the view results button.

  • This will redirect the candidate to all the results of HIMTU.
  • Now candidate needs to click on ‘HPCET 2024 result for B.Tech./B.Pharma/MBA/MCA/M.Tech./M.Pharma’
  • This will open the results page similar to the one shown above.

HPCET 2024 Cut Off

To get admission in various courses being offered by HIMTU under HPCET 2024, the candidate has to clear certain cut off which is set by HIMTU itself.

The cut-off is completely relative and is subject to changes year by year. However, certain factors affect the cut-off score. These factors are:

  • The difficulty of HPCET 2024
  • Past year trends of cut off
  • Number of seats available or any decrease/increase in the number of seats
  • A number of candidates appearing for HPCET 2024.

The expected cut off for various courses, on the basis of Past Trends, is as follows:

HPCET 2024 Tie Breaking Criteria

In case two or more students have an equal number of marks in HPCET 2024, the university uses tie-breaker criteria which serve the purpose of selecting a candidate in such a situation. The criteria are different for different courses. The following table may sum up the criteria used for breaking the tie:-

B.Tech, B.Pharma, B.Pharma (Ayurveda) For candidates applying through HPCET 2024, if aggregate marks are the same for any two or more candidates, candidates with higher marks in Physics will be given preference over other candidates. Further, if marks in Physics are the same, then marks of Chemistry would be used as the tiebreaker. In case the tie still does not get resolved, marks of the remaining third subject will be used for breaking the tie. Candidates with higher marks in such subjects will be preferred. Now if even after the use of marks of the third subject, the tie has not got broken, then simply, the candidate with higher age will be preferred.
If a candidate is applying for admission on the basis of Qualifying Exam – Class 12 marks, and aggregate marks of any two or more candidates are the same, then-candidate with higher age will be preferred over others.
B.Tech/B. Pharmacy.-Lateral Entry If a candidate is applying for admission on the basis of respective Diploma marks, and aggregate marks of any two or more candidates are the same, then-candidate with elder age will be preferred over others.
M.B.A & M.C.A –Direct Entry If candidates are applying on the basis of HPCET 2024 or any other national level exam, and two or more candidates have equal aggregate marks in such test, then-candidate with the higher scores in Verbal Ability will be preferred over others. Further, if marks in the Verbal Ability section are the same, then-candidate with higher marks in Quantitative Ability will be selected. In case the marks of both these sections are the same, then candidates with higher marks in Data Interpretation will be preferred for admission. In case the sectional score in all the three sections is the same, then-candidate of elder in age will be preferred for admission.
If candidates are applying based on a qualifying degree or graduation marks, and aggregate marks of any two candidates are the same, then-candidate with higher age will be selected.
M.C.A -Lateral Entry If candidates are applying based on a qualifying degree or examination, and two or more candidates have equal aggregate marks in the qualifying degree or examination, then-candidate with higher age will be preferred for admission.

HPCET 2024 Counselling

After the declaration of the result of HPCET 2024, HIMTU starts conducting the counseling process for various courses being offered by it by June 2024. The following table may indicate some necessary information regarding counselling process under different courses:

B. Pharmacy and B. Pharmacy(Ayurveda) (Direct Entry) Counseling for this course is done on the basis of HPCET 2024 score. In case the seats remain vacant after the first round, second and further rounds may be taken. In the last round, admission is given on the basis of a 10+2 score.
B.Tech (Direct Entry) Counselling for B.Tech admissions is done in separate rounds on the basis of JEE Mains 2024 Score, and, HPCET 2021 Score In case the seats remain vacant after the first round, second and further rounds may be taken. In the last round, admission is given on the basis of a 10+2 score.
M.Tech Separate rounds of counselling are performed on the basis of the GATE Score, and, HPCET 2024 Score In case the seats remain vacant after the first round, second and further rounds may be taken. In the last round, admission is given on the basis of Graduation score.
M.Pharma Separate rounds of counselling are performed on the basis of GPAT score, and, HPCET 2024 Score In case the seats remain vacant after the first round, second and further rounds may be taken. In the last round, admission is given on the basis of Graduation score.
MBA Separate rounds of counselling are performed on the basis of Score in National Level MBA Entrance exams like CAT, CMAT etc, and, HPCET 2024 Score In case the seats remain vacant after the first round, second and further rounds may be taken. In the last round, admission is given on the basis of Graduation score.
MCA Counseling for the MCA program is done solely on the basis of HPCET 2024 score. In case the seats remain vacant after the first round, second and further rounds may be taken. In the last round, admission is given on the basis of Graduation score.

Documents Required for HPCET 2024 Counselling

At the time of counselling for various courses under HIMTU, the candidate should not forget to carry the following documents in original forms and also one set of attested copies of each:

  • Degree certificates for Graduation (if any).
  • Detailed Marks Sheet of the Previous examination passed by the candidate.
  • Class 10 or 12 certificate, as proof of Date of Birth.
  • Result Card of HPCET 2024 or Result Card of any other National Level Examination, if it qualifies for admission
  • Character Certificate of the candidate, from last Institute which he/she attended
  • Residence proof issued by the competent authority
  • Caste Certificate or Category Certificate issued by competent authority (for reserved category candidates)
  • Certificate of state of being Physically challenged issued by the competent authority, if any
  • Proof of Income or Income certificate issued by the competent authority, if the candidate is applying under any scholarship program
  • An affidavit attested by the Executive Magistrate if the candidate is applying under Beti Hai Anmol Scheme.
  • Residence proof and Kashmiri Migrants certificate issued by the competent authority, if the candidate is applying under Kashmiri Migrants’ Quota
