M.Tech in nanotechnology is a 2-year post-graduate program and is for the students who want to enhance their knowledge in material sciences, electronics and communication devices, biotechnology devices, etc at a nanometer-scale. Various IITs, NITs, some IIITs, and private institutes in the country offer this course. Some of the subjects taught in M.tech nanotechnology are molecular electronics, material sciences, quantum mechanics, computational methods, etc.
The eligibility criterion is not at all complicated. Students who have completed their B.E./B.tech with a minimum of 50% to 55% or equivalent CGPA, from a recognized institute or university, are eligible for this program. The admission for M.tech nanotechnology is both merit-based and entrance-test based. The MTech entrance exam that institutes consider is GATE, with several institutes considering state CETs and some institutes have their separate entrance exams for M.tech.

M.Tech Nanotechnology Admission Process
All students need to have completed B.E./B.tech with a minimum of 50% or equivalent CGPA. After this colleges offer admission on 2 criteria merit-based or entrance exam-based.
There are common national level exams like GATE which most of the colleges consider for admission. Also, some colleges have their separate entrance exams which students can take up to get admission in the course. After getting a score in the entrance exams, the colleges conduct a personal interview round, and in 2 -3 weeks, the colleges release the selected candidate list.

Tips to prepare for M.Tech Nanotechnology Entrance Exams
- Students need to go through the previous year question papers
- Students need to verify the GATE syllabus according to the stream in which they chose to take GATE. Also true for other entrance exams.
- Revise your concepts of 11th and 12th physics, chemistry, maths.
- Revise your concepts that you studied in your B.E./B.TECH.
- Take several mocks and analyze them. The analysis is very important in improving your marks.
- Do take your wristwatch and calculator with you (wherever allowed).
- Do not take heavy breakfast on exam day.

- After the release of the final list of the candidates for the PI round, there is generally a gap of 1-2 weeks before the interview process commences.
