BA Entrance Exam Dates 2024

There are several entrance exams for admission to a Bachelor of Arts course. Some of these exams are CUET, SET, IPU CET, NPAT, BHU UET, CUEE, DSAT, and DU JAT. The dates of these entrance exams are provided below.

BA Entrance Exam Eligibility

There are numerous universities and colleges that conduct entrance exams for admission into their Bachelor of Arts (BA) programs. Eligibility criteria can vary between institutions, however, some general criteria are listed below.

  • Candidates must have completed their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board or institution with at least 50%.
  • Some colleges give 5% relaxation to candidates belonging to reserved categories.
  • Candidates should be 18 years and above.
  • English as a mandatory subject in class 10 and class 12.

The syllabus for BA Entrance Exam is given below.

  • Languages: The syllabus for this section covers Reading Comprehension (based on different types of passages- Factual, Literary, or Narrative), Literary Aptitude, and Vocabulary.

Top BA Entrance Exams

Admission to BA courses in many colleges in India is based on entrance exams. Some top entrance exams for various BA programs are CUET, SET, IPU CET, and NPAT.

CUET

Common University Entrance Test is an all-India test for admission to various Undergraduate, Post-Graduate, and Diploma courses. CUET is applicable in 45 central universities of the country and is conducted by National Testing Agency.

SET

Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is the entrance exam conducted by Symbiosis International which is a deemed university. Every year Symbiosis conducts SET for admission to several undergraduate courses.

National Test for Programs After Twelfth or NPAT is a university-level entrance exam for admission to Undergraduate Degree and Integrated Degree Programs.

The Bar Council of India does not recognize law degree programs completed through distance education, so IGNOU does not offer 3-year LLB, BA LLB, BBA LLB, or LLM programs. It should be noted that no entrance exam is required for IGNOU law programs (except for Ph.D. in Law). Ans. No, there is no semester system in IGNOU for BA courses. In IGNOU students are enrolled in two cycles (January and June). The submission of assignments and TEE (Term End Examination) is scheduled once a year. Although assignments can be submitted only once a year, there is a high chance that if you fail to appear in May or December TEE, you can appear for that particular subject on another cycle. For example, you enrolled in this course in 2021. If you wish to appear for June 2022 TEE, you are required to submit the assignments by March 30 2022. The exams for the coursework are also designed such that they benefit the student if they are appearing for other exams like UPSC. The BPP course is for students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree from IGNOU but doesn’t have the required qualifications. No, you can’t join other universities after doing BPP from IGNOU. You will have to complete your bachelor's from IGNOU. The BPP course will have no value if you don’t complete your graduation. IGNOU also doesn’t issue certificates for BPP only. Read more
