I chose the course because of the pedagogy, subjects like semiotics and Imagining India set this course apart from other courses that conventional B-schools provide. Faculty to student ratio is decent. The faculties are helpful.
The reason I chose this course is because of the excellent visiting faculty as well as the interesting job roles offered to them in placements. Good facult:student ratio, with almost all of them having PhD. The exams are not that hard to pass with there being 3 final semester exams every year.
Apart from the general courses in marketing like principles of marketing, product management, and sales, etc. MICA has some really innovative and disruptive courses to offer, like semiotics and media studies. The faculty also is top-notch, especially in media and communication areas. Since the number of students is low, and apart from the usual faculty a number of industry experts are also guest lecturers at MICA, students are able to get the personalized attention they seek. Classrooms are always interactive, with live case study discussions and problem-solving. A typical marketing management class (in the online mode) would comprise 75 minutes which would cover 30 minutes of theory (in recorded class) followed by 45 minutes (live class) of case study discussion. There are some subjects related to other business areas as well but the number of hours taught is less. The evaluations are fairly technical and are a mix of both quizzes and assignments to make the learning more wholesome.
As mentioned earlier, the courses in the first year establish the base for students in the field of marketing. Each classroom has about 50 students to one faculty member teaching. many of the faculty have teaching experience in the Top IIMs and other top B-schools. One of the faculty was chosen as the professor of the year for Inside IIM. The term exams were challenging in many aspects and some were extremely difficult to pass. While on the other hand, some were easy to pass. Hence, I would say average overall in terms of difficulty.
The course is tailored according to the ever-changing industry standards, and we get an equal mixture of theoretical concepts and hands-on application on real life projects. MICA offers unique subjects like Semiotics and Imagining India, in order to dive deep into the grassroots of understanding the nuances of consumer behaviour and marketing strategies. All the faculties have a doctoral degree from reputed institutions and we have a lot of Visting faculties coming to teach and share their industry experience in order to learn key values and it's applications. MICA also offers a unique set of specialisations comprising of Media & Advertising to marketing Analytics subjects.
This course from this college will add so much value to my personal and professional growth so, I choose this course. Faculty here are well-experienced and have great knowledge skills. College is known for subjects like semiotics which is not taught in any of the other b-schools in India and therefore the teachers here are also exceptional in their teaching skills. The curriculum for the year is planned well before so everything goes as planned and there is no delay in any of the process including exams. It is tough to cope up with the new learnings but at the same time, it is too much fun which makes the process easier and enjoyable.
This course specifically is driven towards developing a deep knowledge of marketing. 1:4 Experts in the field, Case Study and peer to peer learning approach. Exams are held on time and need solid preparation to clear.
My course curriculum is well rounded. It covers all the corners which empower a sound marketing professional. The faculty does a great job in supplementing students with real-world examples. It follows an industry-driven approach. MICA has a 1:7 faculty to student ratio excluding adjunct and visiting faculty. The faculty is highly qualified and has pursued immense research work in the field of marketing. Exams happened once at the end of every term and each term was supplemented with pop quizzes.
PGDM-C course has a special focus on strategic marketing and communication. The number of students is very low hence the faculty to student ratio is high. MICA focuses on quizzes, assignments and end-term exams as an assessment to evaluate students.
