The placements are decent. As mentioned, they bring in corporate companies rather than design studios, so it is a given that you get a good salary. The placements department coordinates through email and you have to do tasks and interviews until finally get the job. A lot of students apply on their own too though.
From the 6th semester onwards, students become eligible for placements. There are various fields in the industry where students can work depending on their specialisations. There is a placement cell that helps with such opportunities. Infosys, Deloitte, Elle, IMB are some companies that offer employability,
Students become eligible for campus placements in their 3rd year. They get summer internships and can do freelance work as well. Companies such as Infosys, Cognizant, Whirlpool, etc. recruit students from SID. The average package is around 10 LPA with the highest for this year being around 18 LPA. As of 2022, the percentage of students getting placements is 100%. As an animation student, I have various options to explore such as VFX Artist, Cartoonist, Visual Storyteller, etc. after my degree.

You become eligible in your last year i.e the 4th year of college. Our college has a placement cell. This cell works like a connection between the students and the industry. Pre-placement and placement work is arranged for eligible students. So far the students have gotten placements in companies like Infosys, Whirpool, Autoline, Mudra Communications, Onio Design, Leaf Design, Book My Show, Buzzfactory, Deloitte, Vaachie Apparels, Tommy Hilfiger, Craft UX, etc. I am not quite sure as to what direction I want to go in. I am sure after my 2nd year is done, I will have more clarity about it. Mostly I would love to do Art Direction or Visual Merchandising and work for a fashion magazine.
I chose this college because it encourages holistic learning. The course curriculum is based on the practical skills and project work. The campus is also perfect for learning. They provide all the basic facilties to the students.
After completing my 12th boards with good results. I took GATE and my score was 395. I choose the college because college offers product design and development and mainly focus on creativity and innovation ideas.
The college has provided us with design studios and computer labs which are up to date with specialized application software and high quality laser printer are also at the disposal of students to enhance their creative skills. SID library has a thinking room, reading hall with seating capacity of 110 students. It has a collections of international journals & magazines, technical writings, e- resources, degree projects, audiovisual material etc. Thus SID promotes value based and ethical learning and develop global competencies & creativity among the students.
The student should have passed class 12th in any stream related to ( Arts, Science, Commerce, Humanities) etc with 50% marks. 40% for the students belonging to the reserved category. A candidate who has a diploma which is approved by the State Board of Technical Education are also eligible to apply. Other than that all the Indian students have to give SEED examination on the basis of which eligibility to admission is performed. The international students are handled by the SCIE center. Other rounds of interview, portfolio and group discussion will be conducted if you clear the cut off. Merit list will be prepared on these scores and you will be granted admission in the college.
