Campus Life:

There is one annual festival called Aatmatrisha. It happens in the month of march and lasts for a week. There are 2 major libraries in our campus. There are seperate libraries for each course in the respective blocks. Books can be borrowed anytime. Technological provisions in our campus and classrooms are very good. There are led tv screens and black and white boards in every classroom and studio. There is a basketball court, football court, cricket ground, squash court, table tennis area, badminton court etc for students to access anytime. There is a gym too. The clubs in PES are very nice. There are various clubs for dance, music, poetry etc where anyone can participate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very well designed for a beginner in a design course. It has all the basics in the first semester. Mainly the fact that basics in all the subjects being taught made me choose this college over all others. The curriculum teaches you how to make a design and how to empathize with the customer which is the most needed skill to survive in the real world and be a designer. There could be more studios and more materials to explore, that would benefit the students immensely. The frequency of exams is 2 in between the semester and one at the end. Their difficulty level depends on the student and their liking to a subject.

Faculty:

The faculty is highly educated passed out from the top institutes in India, like NID ,NIFT and IITs.The quality of education they provide through their skill set is commendable, faculty student ratio is 1:77, impacts good on the students as they are very attentive and keep an eye on everyone's work,I interact often with faculty members and ask for help in my doubts.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The workshops, quality of machines, worspace, makers lab and the material handling influenced me to choose this course.I was interested in design from childhood but the college helped me providing a direction to my vision.I don't suggest any improvements, frequency and timing of exams along with our difficulty level is the best.

Admission:

Admission After passing m 12th from humanities, I decided to take arts and design as my career. Gujarat is state famous for its design institutes. So I started looking for the colleges in Gujarat. I came through Karnavati University which was newly established and the course looked promising to me. I applied online on the website of the university. For admission, the minimum 50% aggregate was required in class 12th in any stream. Final admission was based on two rounds-round 1 and round 2. Round 1 included Design Aptitude test which tests General IQ, Analytical and Creative Ability of a candidate. Round 2 included situation test followed by portfolio examination. I appeared for the aptitude test which went pretty well. In the situation test, I was asked to draw the still painting of the baskets and fruits kept in front of me. My portfolio was examined and all my designs were thoroughly looked upon. The results were declared on the basis of cumulative score of both the rounds. I cracked the entrance exam and the situation test as my name appeared in the first list. Finally the fees was paid that confirmed my admission.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum The course structure focuses on developing products, services that enables the students to think creatively. It was a balance of creativity, technology, cultural concerns, and environmental needs. Artificial intelligence (AI) was used that made the students well equipped with the fourth industrial revolution. The curriculum encourages a user-centered approach and design thinking. The course is focused on process-driven work that examines all aspects of industrial design from conception to implementation. The curriculum also has workshops that build the model and prototype making for several designs. The learning model includes- field trips, guest lectures, and workshops with artisans, live projects, fashion shows, design disha, international visits, mentoring, CSR, internships and industry visits. The course delivers experimental knowledge to us.

Admission:

The selection procedure was quite complex to understand at first. Though I managed to clear the UID DAT, which was a design aptitude test comprising of written entrance test, situation test, portfolio evaluation. I had to pass every test to sit in the next one and finally I was able to get the admission and a draft of 2000 was mandatory.

Campus Life:

Our curriculum was not much hectic so we did many extra activities at the campus like workshop activities, freshers party, seminars, and webinars. Tech-fest was one of the activities where many students voluntarily participated. Also, the ratio of students was balanced and almost every student was from within the state only.

Fee Structure And Facilities:

The fee structure I would honestly say that every year they are increasing a certain amount and its becoming expensive day by day .Academics of one year is near about 5 lac including hostel fee(excluding food expenses), overall for one year my expenses have reached above 5 lac. So, yes it is expensive academically.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would prefer MIT ADT over WPU for b. des but it's good compared to other colleges giving b. des degree. Wpu has 3 sems which kinda makes the year a lil hectic. b. des is a assignments-based course which means you are gonna have to work your ass of every day.

Faculty:

We are being taught by some of the very well-known faculty across India- Jishnu Changkoti, Apoorv Bamba and Ankur Kulshrestha to name a few. They help us understand the basic concepts of management, marketing, strategy, operations, innovation, organizational behavior, accounting finance, business planning, business ethics, digital marketing, problem solving, decision making, supply chain and logistics, network business, sales, collaboration and entrepreneurship and what not. All this is supplemented with the guidance from the industry leaders such as Raghava Rao, Sanjay Sarivastava, Ravi Chandranto to name a few. This completes the exotic combination of academic knowledge and the best possible practical guidance. All this is made possible by the amazing profs at JKLU who are not to found in most the universities of India.

Placement Experience:

When you sit for placements you realize that you are in a much better position in comparison to other colleges around you. There are more than 120 participating organization in the recruitment drive which starts in October. The students are restricted from looking for jobs own their own. They are also free to opt out of the placement process, though the career service center encourages each and every student to participate in the placements. My schooling has majorly been in Hindi medium, so I was afraid that I would not get a good job. But surprisingly, I have a job which pays me more than some my other English medium friends studying in other colleges. This would not have been if not for the help and encouragement from the faculty and the center for communications and critical thinking
