As such, there is no dress code at IMT Hyderabad. However, here are some suggestions for you to help you dress appropriately according to the event:

1. During the leadership series, practitioner sessions, or any formal event, dress formally.
2. For regular classroom sessions and while in the academic block, wear semi-formals.
3. When you are on campus but somewhere other than the academic block, go for casuals.

There are separate hostels for girls and boys at IMT Hyderabad. The other gender is not allowed in either of these hostels, except for special scenarios. These scenarios may be, for example, at the time of vacating the hostels, when a female friend is seriously injured, or during a major event. During such special circumstances, the permission of the respective hostel warden is required. There is a common room where boys and girls can meet and work on assignments.

The students require special permission from their respective wardens if they need to stay outside the hostel campus at night. The entry and exit times keep changing throughout the year and there is a student council committee that decides these timings.

IMT Hyderabad students are provided with single occupancy rooms that come with all the basic amenities one could ask for. Some of these include

The food served in the mess is of great quality and very hygienic. Mostly South Indian food is served and a variety of vegetables are cooked on a daily basis. Non-veg food is served on certain days although the taste may be a bit average. 

Overall the food is edible and the hostel facilities aren't bad either. IMT Hyderabad Hostel will give you a great experience and memories to cherish. 

During your PGDM, your life will become extremely busy and also very challenging at times. You will become busy with classes, pre and post-class assignments, extracurricular activities, club activities, etc. You will have no time left to do anything else 

that you may have planned for your hostel life. You will end up spending your free time catching up on some sleep or going for a walk/jog on the 30-acre lush green IMT Hyderabad campus.

The same holds for all the other top business schools and not just IMT Hyderabad.

Therefore, stop worrying about the IMT Hyderabad hostel's strictness and rules. You will become so involved in your PGDM that you won't get enough time to ponder these small issues.
