I live in a hostel which comes inside the campus itself. 3 people share a room and the room is very spacious. We are provided with a bed, chair and study table. We are provided with 3 meals a day and the quality of food is great. The hostel seats are given on merit basis for which a form is to be filled and the list appears with a condition that the candidate should not be a resident of Mumbai.
The hostel provided in campus but only out side of Mumbai and Thane district students are eligible per branch only 10-12 students selected for hostel selected on the basis of cet rank The hostel is very affordable as compared to other pg in Mumbai Mess is good but you feel bored after some time
For a hostel, there are not many facilities provided by the college. There is no Wi-Fi in the hostel. Hostel meals are very good and tasty and also healthy. Hostel registration is done through your ranks in CET. Only 6-8 students are able to get the hostel per branch. PG is available in the areas of Wadala and Matunga, but the cost is very high.
Infrastructure wise, there's lot to improve since its a 150 year old construction, but on a positive side, there is this new building specially being constructed for girls. For recreation, there is Saraswati library, internet facitlity, festivals like dahi handi etc. You get to manage two major hostel festivals - Ganeshotsav and Chetna in your 2nd year. There's no ragging, no drugs/drinking. Infact, I would call it the safest place on earth as you are not allowed to go out of the hostel after 9 30 pm. At the end of 4 years, you realize, its not just a room you shared but your life, and you'll cherish the times for the rest of your life
Hostels are very neat and clean in my college. There are very good facilities, good staff and good rooms and places. Infrastructure is also very good. 24 hrs water available here. Never get troubles about hostels.
I do not live in the hostel but I do know some things. It is on a 3 people sharing basis, the rooms are decent size and each person has their own bed and cupboards. There is a study desk and mirror in each room as well. There are a few rentals available around the college for girls, and a couple of PG's available for boys and girls within a 2 km radius of the college. The availing of hostel facility depends on the score achieved in the previous given examinations.
Hostel are in not-so-good condition, yet you will get used to it after a month. Hostel seats are limited and if you don't get it, then you may live in rooms with group of 3-6 people, with price of around 6k per member per month (since it's Mumbai and accomodation is at worst here).
There are Hostels for UG courses but as of now there are no hostel for PG students. besides the fact that funds have already been released by Govt. in 2014. For UG students Hostel are good. fee are nominal.
There are very limited seats for College Hostel in VJTI. Only 10 students out of 60 of every branch get hostel. Infrastructure of few blocks is not that good. But the quality of the Mess Food is really nice and hostels are really affordable considering the core location of Dadar. Hostel fees is around 25k per year and Mess fees is around 34k per year. Ease of accessibility to college within minutes is the life saver for Histellites.
Hostel facilities are good. Day wise menu's are available and the per plate cost is 45 Rs with unlimited value pack. A complete diet is available for the morning breakfast, you have to pay differently. Every facility is available at hostel except wifi.
