JDMC Placements 2025 FAQs
Ques. Are placements or internships facilitated by JDMC Delhi University?
Ans. JDMC Delhi University does have a placement and internship cell, but depending on the year, some years are more active than others. Companies and organisations do reach out to the college for interns or entry-level roles, particularly in sectors like education, content writing, NGOs and other organisations. The college hosts occasional resume workshops or career seminars, but for specialised roles, students typically must engage in their own outreach.
Ques. What types of companies come to JDMC for placements?
Ans. The majority of companies that come to JDMC Delhi University are from the education, content writing, customer service, digital marketing, and NGO sectors. These companies typically extend roles such as:
- Content Associate
- Business Development Executive
- Teaching Fellow (for EdTech firms)
- Marketing Interns
- HR Trainees
- Program Assistants for NGOs.
The majority of packages are within the range of INR 2.5 LPA - INR 4 LPA. Students with strong communication skills tend to fare well in these drives, as do students who have completed internships or work experience.
Ques. Is there a requirement for students of JDMC Delhi University to take an internship as part of the curriculum?
Ans. Internships are not required in the DU UG curriculum, and they are not required by JDMC in order to graduate. However, the undersigned will encourage students to selectively do an internship over their summer or semester breaks. Departments such as Economics may suggest that students do an internship to build their practical knowledge related to the discipline. JDMC has a Placement Cell that also keeps students informed about periodic internship opportunities. These opportunities are mostly remote, part-time, or project-based internships in areas such as content writing, social media marketing, NGOs, or education.
Ques. Do students who have a background in a subject other than commerce get placed by JDMC?
Ans. Yes, but the roles that are being offered are not always directly related to the academic subject. Many of the first job employers will be looking for basic communication and adaptive skills rather than discipline-specific capabilities. Thus, a student who has a degree in a subject like History or Political Science would be able to apply for a wide variety of generalist roles. Because of the previous statement, subject-specific placements like research or heritage conservation for a student with a History background will not happen unless they have completed an internship in that area or obtained some other program or certification.
