This college admits students based on their keam rank. It is through the KEAM allotment process. It is a fairly simple process not too complicated. We have two internal exams and an end semester exam every semester which is good.

The eligibility to the course is from KEAM examination. The BTech CSE course has an approximate cutoff of 1870 rank. The admission process is pretty straight forward and it ends with a one on one meeting with the Principal and Head of Department of your course. The application forms and all other details can be availed from the college website. The KEAM examination is not that tough when compared to JEE. The examination is usually conducted once a year during the months of May/June with registration starting from April.

You can only apply to MEC by writing the KEAM examination. To get into BTech CSE the cut-off rank for general category is around 4000. The first part of the admission process is done through KEAM portal, after which MEC sends you all the necessary details through email. The cut off rank for reserved categories are very much lower than the general cut-off. The course fee are also lower for them. KEAM exam is held once a year and it is much easier than JEE.

Admission process was kind of delayed in my time. You need to take keam entrance exam for merit and management seats. Cutoff was 50% for general and 40% for SC/ST. Once got then the admission process was pretty simple. Everything was done in 20-30 minute.

One gets admission into the college based on their rank in the KEAM examination. Computer science and engineering is one of the most demanded courses these days and hence the cut-off rank for it in this college is about 2500. The admission process is quite tiring because one has to fill in forms and all. I propose that it should all be digitalized.

The admission criteria to enter this college is through entrance exams like keam which we need to score a high rank in it . We can also get admission with low rank if we are from a reserved caste. We need to have so many certificates that was difficult to attain to easily get into the college

One of my friends is studying at Model Engineering College (MEC) in Kerala. According to her insights, MEC is APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU) affiliated. In the past, it was CUSAT affiliated but not anymore.

According to her, it is better to go for CUSAT than MEC Kerala. The opportunities offered are more in CUSAT. Overall, you cannot get admission to MEC Kerala based on CUSAT.
