The students are eligible for placements in their 7thsemester. The placements in JEC are not so bad. In computer science and engineering around 80%, in Mechanical Engineering around 40%, in electrical engineering around 45%, in civil engineering around 20% and in instrumentation around 10% of students get placements every year. Companies like TCS, WIPRO, VEDANTA, BY JU'S, DOUBTNUT, COGNIGENT, HUL come to the college every year. Also, PSUs like OIL, NRL, ONGC, APDCL come to the college every year.
The placement in JEC is said to be good as only some PSUs like bedanta etc and oil sectors like Bharat petroleum come for the placement. Average of 10 to 15 lakhs and highest of 25 lakhs per year. From the 3rd year i.e 5th semester, the students become eligible for campus placement, and maximum the OBCs and Caste are widely selected for placement if their marks are static and average. In general, there is more competition so students should at least secure 8 to 9 pointer in their yearly examination for jobs. For me, I am not focusing on on-campus placement so after completing my degree, i would go to Bangalore for doing some Computer courses for my dream to become a game designer at graphic designing.
From the 5th semester, students are eligible for campus placements. Oil, Infosys and many other companies visit our campus for placements. The highest package is around 1.25 lakh per month and the average package is around 50-55 thousand per month. 30-40% of students get placed from our college.
The placement for CSE is good. Around 70% of students are getting placed every year. Wipro, TCS and many other companies and IT companies hire students from the CSE branch. In mechanical placement is average around 40% of students get placed every year. OIL, NRL, APDCL, IOCL etc PSU's came and hire students from the mechanical branch along with the privet companies. Placement of CIVIL is not so good and electrical is quite average. In IE placement in not so good.
I heard about its academic structure and it's quite good.Besides, the college has excellent faculties who can make the teaching learning process quite easy and interesting. The college provides 10 hostels in its campus for both boys and girls. The college provides a very good environment for the students to carry out their academics as well as their growth in every aspect.
when i was attending the counselling for college selection i intended to take admission in Assam engineering college(AEC) and i was interested more in computer science engineering. But in AEC they had only few seats for the that branch, so i had to opt for JEC which had more number seats for Computer science branch and the tuition fees was not expensive as well. So that's why i opted for this college. I had no idea about this college before joining but after taking admission here i learnt many new things, this college made me realize a lot of different faults that i had within me and helped me work on them. Regarding opting for this course, i always had an keen interest in technology and stuff related to it so i opted for this course
The main factor that made me choose this College was Civil branch. To study BE i only prefered Civil branch because in future if i got job, there will be the possibility of posting in my own town. There was no option for me to choose other colleges because in Guwahati i have not got civil but in jorhat 3 seat was left and i bound to take that though the communication line is not good from my place.
It is a government college. It is situated in my home state i.e Assam. My college is a second home for the north-eastern states of India. The tution fee for the course is very much affordable. Students with low finance background can very much afford to study here if they want to study enginnering without much concern about fees structure of the college. Hostels are also provided for the students and it is also very much affordable unlike other b-tech colleges. It is located not very far from the college.Transportation is also available. Infact bus services are provided to travel from college to main town and vice versa The courses provided in my college: 1)Bachelor of Engineering Branches:civil, mechanical, electrical, computer science,Instrumentation 2)Master of Engineering Branches:civil, mechanical, electrical 3)Master of computer Application Projectors for visual teaching are provided in the classrooms, proper labs are available for practical purposes, books can be borrowed from library.well-probed seminar halls are available within the college. Free -wifi connectivity is provided for students and faculties within college premises and also in the hostel compounds. College activities are held during the academic year. Clubs and societies are also there for interested students to join them. All in all its a good college.
Jorhat engineering college is One of the top engineering college in assam. Another reasons are infrastructure of the colleges, placement of different branches and it offers different extracurricular activities.
