Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Admissions 2024

Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Admission will soon commence for various UG, PG, Doctoral, Post-Doctoral, and Diploma programs. Candidates aspiring to be admitted into a particular course at SKIMS have to appear in their respective entrance examinations. Individuals seeking admission to MBBS, MD/MS and DM/MCh have to qualify for NEET UG, NEET PG and NEET SS.

Students aspiring to be admitted to the BSc Nursing/MSc Nursing/BSc/MSc must appear in the JKBOPEE, followed by counselling.
Admission to diploma programs in streams such as DMLT, DMRT and DMRIT is based on the merit list.
BOPEE conducts the JK NEET UG and NEET PG Counselling for MBBS and MD/MS admission.
SKIMS reserves 15% of MBBS seats under the All India Quota, and 85% of seats are reserved under the State Quota.

Candidates clearing the entrance examination will have to sit for a counselling/personal interview. Individuals appearing for counselling must register on the official website of BOPEE (https://www.jkbopee.gov.in/). Jammu Kashmir NEET Counselling will be conducted in three rounds for admission to SKIMS. If seats are left vacant after the first round of JK NEET counselling, the second and mop-up rounds of counselling are conducted. Skims my dream college

Likes

There is 1:1 boys girls ratio. There is no discrimination. All the students get equal opportunity.
The facilities are good, we have playground for cricket and football, basketball court, badminton court, table tennis table and many more sports
The location is also very good and convenient, its on the national highway and close to city center, there’s almost every facility available

Dislikes

The campus is not yet complete, many buildings and still under process.
The patient load is very much in the hospital
No hostel for interns and 1st year students yet

Student view on course

It is a great course, everything they teach is applied in the field, you have to be very thorough with the subjects and should have clinical knowledge. The course is almost perfect but they should focus on clinical teaching more than theory. The exams are very difficult and tiring.

Internship opportunity provided by the college and stipend

There is 1 year internship program for which students are paid 12500 per month, you have to give postings in every department on rotation. You can learn everything from internship its a great way of learning and practicing.

Yearly fees and scholarship provided by the college

There is 18000 per year free which include hostel and academic and bus charges. SC ST students cap apply for state scholarship and get benifits of upto 40000 for sc and upto 60000 for stgb category at the end of year.

What does student says about campus

Infrastructure is not that good, 2 students in a small room, apart from that, good life, extra curricular activities but there are no fest organised here, there are seminar and farewell parties, no freshers. There is cass union run by students

Hostel facilities provided by the college

Hostel facilities is not that good, 2 students in a small room, water purifier is far from room, the mess is not upto mark, its very bad indeed, electricity is there 24*7. There are only fans in the hostel

Mbbs is a 5.5 year program, which include 1 year internship, exams are held at the end of year. You have to give 4 university exams, before that everyyear send ups are given by which you get qualified for university exam, The faculty is highly qualified, the are qualified form high esteemed institutes from india and abroad like aiims, pgi, oxford university, john hopikings, harvard and many European institutions. 1st year include anatomy, physiology and biochemistry 2nd year pathology, pharmacology and microbiology 3rd year ophthalmology, ent , forensic medicine and community medicine 4th year surgery medicine gynaecology and pediatric.

College competence

I applied for gmc jammu but i didn't made the cut off, 2nd was skims, its the best medical college and hospital in the state, it has its own state cancer institute. The value of degree from this college is way over any other college in the state. To get admission you have to qualify neet and made the cut off

I chooses this because i wanted to go in medical feild after my recent failure in NEET exams ,i heard about this college and course from my friend he was my senior there. Yes i got rejected in NEET exams For admission in SKIMS , there is State level Entrance called JKCET for which student has to apply and appear in exam then counselling of seats is done by JKBOPEE .,after the selection list is Out student need to visit the College with Necessary docs like Aadhar Card Domocile , DOB , migration certificate and Provisional and discharge certificate..and its done after paying the Fee in the form of bank draft

I choose this college because of low fee structure, hogh end education level and faculty members. The great practical skills which no other college can inherit into a student. Level of exams is great amd the students passing out from this college are like never stopping in their career.

University: college to affiliated to Shere Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Soura
Campus: college has total 300 acres of land.
Location : Easily reachable located at national highway (NH 1) in Bemina area of Srinagar City

Dislikes

Locality: stationary shops are not located nearby to college
Infrastructure: Main college building and 2nd hospital block are under construction and it will take around 2 to 3 years

Admission:

For MBBS admission You have to score a decent score in NEET (national eligibility cum entrance test) Cutoff for open merit was around 630 in 2023 After getting selected you can easily take admission For admission basic documents and some affidavits are required Admission fee is around ?26000

Eligibility of MBBS you have to write the NEET exam For which you have to score good rank then you can apply for counselling as per your category Form of this exam will be available on NTA every year around april -May they take exam for neet

You can not apply for admission to any UG or PG course in SKIMS Srinagar. There are entrance examinations scores compulsorily accepted for admission to this institute.

The total fee for the BSc in Nursing is INR 12,500 at the SKIMS, Srinagar. You must have done (10+2) or High School Senior Secondary exam by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or any equivalent exam conducted by any State Board or Equivalent. He/She should have secured a minimum 50% Aggregate. All SC/ST candidates have a relaxation of 5% in the minimum aggregate.
