I like the peace and respect among colleagues in this institution.
There is so much greenary and campus is very big and there are so many facilities of sports also.
All laboratories are well maintained and lecture hall are also very big.
Dislikes
I think that the fees is high and person like me who are studying on freeship card have hard time paying this fee.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The timing of college is good. Its around 9 AM to 5 PM.Only 1 hour break is there between 1 to 2 PM. Lectures are good. Curriculum is also very good.It includes major holidays but not every single holidays. There are no holiday on 2 or 4 Saturday. Every saturday college is running from 9 to 1.
I really liked the faculty of psmc and to be honest it's much better than any other private colleges moreover the events and all also appear much frequently.
The campus here is really big and has a really good flora and fauna. One can easily roam around and to get fresh air and get positive vibes.. one can easily observe certain birds like peacock, peahen, cuckoos, parrots, monkeys and all varieties..
Another thing that it is very safe for girls.. this every year almost the same amount or more amount of girls get addmission. The hostel facility for them is also good and independence is also given. There are as such not much strict restrictions.
Dislikes
Not taking frequent tests or exams which results into easy forgetfulness. And this can be improved by adding tests to the academic activities. Extracurricular activities are much less.. the ground is provided for sports activities but is not used
Even though the mess food is better than any other colleges but it is not something one is found of. There is increased quantity of spices and oil, which does cause problems.. some have experienced tonsillitis, food poisoning, decreased weight, etc.
Classrooms are not that good condition, but are manageable, the class room benches appear old and marked, but are quite stable, other facilities are much better than the classroom bench, board, and other stuff itself
Course Curriculum Overview:
I was personally very interested about the human body it's structure and functioning which is very well related and taught here.
It's very amusing experience performing practical and all other stuff.
A few teachers do teach us how to apply our theroy well in the clinical application in first year but as we go on we get special bridge course for this purpose. It is quite helpful and teaches how to interact with patients and all.
The area to be improved for course curriculum is teachers should move on to newer methods of teaching with diagrams flowchart ppts and all.. they should take a small short quiz or test after class so students pay attention more to class. Timmings should be maintained for class as the classes after lunch are like sedatives and person can easily dose off..
Frequency of the exams are just enough and the timmings should be probably fixed to day time instead of mornings. Test instead should be taken more frequently. The difficulty level as per me is quite alright and to be honest it is quite easy.
The faculties they are very helpful. They are highly expertise and experienced. Also the lab technician the other staff if very kind and guiding.
The college boasts state of art and facilities. It is well stocked with good recourses and the infrastructure is highly good.
Hostel facilities are comfortable, seperate hostels for girls and boys is present and also the mess is attached and they provide very hygienic food there.
Dislikes
One thing I disliked is the navratri celebration that is because it is very conjusted and not well prepared
Hostel facilities for non AC rooms the washroom are not seperate for non AC rooms Ane that creates a lot of mess.
Another thing is the fee structure it is kind of too high for some. All cannot afford it and is the highest costing medical college in gujarat
Course Curriculum Overview:
The curriculum is completely based on the Nmc that it had proposed for the entire nation. The schedule provided by Nmc is strictly followed by the college and exams and sessions are taken as per that proposed schedule. Also we have aetcom and self development sessions in the college. We have postings in the hospital that help us to manage the real life exposure. We have early clinical exposure where we are well guided by the doctors and residents.
I chose MD Pharmacology as I wanted to go into academics. I was interested in teaching medical students. The faculty-student ratio was 5:2. All the faculty were well-qualified and knowledgeable. Seminars and journal clubs were arranged regularly. Teachers were always there to help us with our studies and thesis. The work culture was very good. Exams were held yearly and small assignments in between. Exams were easy to pass if students had studied sincerely.
Our college has the best teaching facilities provided in entire state. Only problems are high fee structure with compulsory mess and hostel for students staying in hostel. There are also less patients compared to other colleges.
There is nothing negative about our medical college. No one gets any bad from our college. The future of our college is very bright because of the effort of the staff and students. From 100 seats in past to 150 seats present. The progress is on.
At our time our beloved finance minister Shri H M Patel was there and he started this institute for the benefit of society and community. The only thing I remember is our strike for getting recognition in Medical Council Of India. It was around 44 days strike and we enjoyed this strike and learnt so many things unity, bonding and other so many things.
